I am dying to go on a road trip. The driving part of the trip to Oklahoma last year was pretty cool especially since it was late March. We start out here in CT where it’s cold and the tree’s are still brown, and by Kentucky it’s getting warmer, tree’s are starting to show leaves and stuff. It was so cool, eventually at one rest stop I was able to toss my jacket in the trunk and breathe in the wonderful smell of freshly mowed grass. It was like experiencing spring on fast forward. 🙂 I love road trips. I love staying in hotels along the way and stuff. We don’t have the money for a road trip this year though, plus we’re getting the puppy so maybe we’ll go somewhere in May for our anniversary. We were actually thinking Canada but I want to go somewhere we can take the dog. I don’t know how easy it is to get pets through customs. Maybe we’ll stick to Maine, the beaches are very nice and peaceful that time of year.

I was thinking about it the other day and I think a zoo keeper would be the perfect job for me. I could probably get through the college for that. I love the outdoors, I love animals. Vetrinary work is stressful, sure zoo keeper work could be at times too but not nearly as often. I can feed monkeys, setup enrichment games for wild cats and clean up elephant shit but the only zoo in CT is in Bridgeport, not only is it tiny but Bridgeport sucks, it’s not only big and busy but it’s creepy and not the safest city to be in. *sigh*

I’d like to do something ‘fun’ for a living. This 8 hour a day in a stuff office is brutal. I don’t even have a window to look out.

We checked with the dog breeder and they’re fine with us taking cameras on Saturday. They said we could even bring a video camera if we want, not that we have one to bring. There’s only going to be two puppies for us to choose from. There were 4 females born in this litter and we were the 3rd person to get our deposit in so we get to choose from the last two left. In a way I think I’m kinda glad though, it’s always so hard to pick! When I picked Casper I just picked the first one that let me pick it up, after I picked him up he curled up in my arms and went to sleep so I couldn’t bear to put him down. We didn’t really get to pick Kenny either. We picked one and then when we went to grab it they all ran away so we ended up chasing the cats all over this womans house. We took the first one we could catch. That whole litter was really afraid of people, Kenny still is afraid of strangers but he’s great with us. My husband picks all my bettas out for me and he’ll most likely pick the puppy we take home. I’m just too indecisive. Anyway, I’ll post puppy pictures as soon as I can after we see them. 🙂 I wonder how much she’ll change between Saturday and March 4th when we get to pick her up.

I’m glad tomorrow is Friday, this week has seemed kind of long. I wish I didn’t have to be here for a full 8 hours. I’m usually ready to go home at 1pm. It never fails. I’ll think “man, I want to go home” look down at the clock, 1pm. 6 hour days would be perfect for my attention span. I swear they have the A/C on in this joint, it’s fucking cold in here AND I keep feeling cold air coming in over my cubicle wall.

Ah well, guess I’ll grab my sweater and get to work.
