Dying

Ok, so I’m not really dying but this morning I thought I was. I had been feeling slightly better (I’ve been sick since Saturday night), but this morning I woke up with the worse sinus pressure ever. I told hubby it was time for me to go to the doctor! So he scheduled an appointment and I went.

I like my doctor he’s awesome but for some reason I always get nervous at the doctors office. My blood pressure and pulse are always high, the nurses never fail to comment. The nurse even took my pulse twice this time. I also have an inherited tremor in my hands. My dad’s whole side of the family has it and the nurse was holding my hand at one of the worse positions so it was shaking a lot. So here my pulse was up and my hand was shaking lol, I must have seemed scared to death. I was going to tell her I always had those problems and stuff but she had a thermometer in my mouth so all I could do was smile and nod when she commented on my pulse. Damn thermometer, how mean are nurses? I mean here I am complaining of severe congestion, I can’t breathe out of my nose hardly at all and she sticks a thermometer under my tongue for like ever, I thought I was going to die.

Anyway, I have a lovely case of Bronchitis as well as Sinusitis. I also have a clogged Eustation tube in my left ear. Nice nice, I figured since I was there I’d mention that for the past 2-3 months I’ve been able to hear my corotid artery in my left ear. The Doctor nodded and said he noticed it was plugged with fluids and that the Amoxicillin he was giving me should take care of it. Good good, two birds, one stone. 🙂

I have been watching a TON of animal planet. So far I’ve watched the International Invitational Dog show and tons of specials on different breeds. If you read this entry Cyndi I even saw one on Greyhound Rescue! 🙂 Those are really cool dogs. 🙂 Today I saw the cutest golden retreiver puppies! I am so dying to get our puppy! I learned you can start training as early as 4 weeks, it was so cool watching 4 week old puppies respond to commands like “Sit”, they were training to be Service dogs for the handicapped, very neat. That answers a big question I had though, which was how soon could I start training and yay, right away!! I was raised around show dogs so I’m a firm beleiver in dog training, of course, I beleive that dogs should be dogs but when people walk through the door I want to be able to say sit/stay and not have her jumping all over guests like plenty of other people’s dogs do. Nothing irks me more than to go over to someone’s house in nice clothes and to have their dog jumping all over me. Thanks to my illness I was reminded of something. Nearly every single dog adoption site states the following. Even when you’re sick your pet will still need you. It’s easy to say eh, yeah, duh but after being sick and having to take care of my cats and fish and stuff it kind of made me think a little more. The past several days have consisted of reprimanding cats when need be, finding out why so and so is meowing. Changing fish tanks b/c hubby is at class and can’t help me, stuff like that. But that’s alright b/c I’ve found I can be laying there wanting to die but as soon as I hear a pet that needs attention all that is forgotten, sure I might end up in a coughing fit after I rush over to see what’s wrong but I think I can handle it. But it is something to think about if you’re not sure b/c last night after my shower I had to change out two of my betta tanks and by the end of that I was exhausted and since I’ve got bronchitis I was having a hard time breathing and stuff but I think true animal people will find it in themselves to do what needs to be done no matter how sick you are. Kind of like mothers with their babies. No matter how sick you are when your baby needs you, you’ll be there.

Speaking of pets our Maine Coon Vicki hasn’t left my side the entire time I’ve been sick, she’s just the sweetest little thing. The only problem though is that she wants to lay on the remotes. While hubby isn’t in the bed I tend to pile all my stuff on his side so I lay the remotes and the cordless phone and stuff there and Vicki wants to lay on them, so I move them and she gets up and goes to lay on them. I don’t know what the deal is with this cat but I keep telling her I need those in case the phone rings so she can’t lay on them. 🙂

Anyway, I should probably get my sick ass back to bed. 🙂

Ohhhh, that is SO COOL about the greyhounds!! Thanks for mentioning that for me!! They are really the sweetest, best dogs, but then again, I’m sorta kinda biased. Yes, it’s true that when you’re sick, pets still need you. I had the stomach virus a couple weeks ago, and taking the greyhounds out was an ORDEAL. But I still did it, because they needed me to do it. So, you are wise to bring that up

Also, when do you think you will be getting your puppy? Have you heard from your breeder? I hope you can get the puppy soon!! One of my very best friends had a Maine Coon, named Mystie. She was beautiful! They’re big cats. What color is yours? Mystie was silver and white–very pretty.
