Working on the last chapter

Right now I am taking a break from writing. I am on the final chapter of my Atheist non-fiction book or as I like to playfully call it; my Atheist Manifesto. By the time the book is finished, it will likely be between 160-170 pages long, which is around where I wanted this one to be. Not too big, but not too small either. I might attempt to do over 300 pages next time, but I didn’t want to push that much onto someone too soon. I am well aware of how some people can react when too much is pushed into them too soon.

When I’m finished writing this book, I am going to start sending queries to potential literary agents who might want to represent this book. A long shot that is for sure, but I’ll give it a go. If things don’t go as well as I hope they might, I will just post the book online (for a very reasonable price) within the next month or so and the move on to my next project.

I’m also working on novel right now as well. I am hoping to have it done before the end of the month so that I can jump into another project just in time for National Novel Writing Month (Nanowrimo) which I plan to participate in again this year. If I cross the 50K finish line again this November, it will be my seventh year in a row I’ve accomplished that. I like writing Nano every year, for some reason I like working with a deadline, fake or otherwise and I seem to get a lot done in November because of that.

I’ve got some options that I’ve been working on for the next novel, but I’ve got a few weeks to work that out. If you plan to work on Nano this year, let me know because I would be more than willing to help out with words of encouragement and coaching if that would help you reach the finish line this year.

So that’s it from here in the Hammer. I hope everyone is having a great weekend and I’ll be back tomorrow to post a few more entries. Until then, take care everyone!

Peter

Excellent! I’ve participating in Nano five years, on and off. This year I’m thinking of adding 25,000 words to the nonfiction book I wrote last year, and spending the rest of my time editing the manuscript. I’m a rebel. What are you thinking of writing?
