Getting back to normal…
I took both boys 24/7 for two and half weeks starting on July 27th. While it seemed like a great idea to help the ex and get more quality time with the boys, near the end things got a little out of control. I could tell the boys were homesick and wanted to see their Mom, and as much as I love my boys, I’m glad they’re finally home with their Mom and I can go to bed early tomorrow and sleep in the next day.
The two weeks had many, many more good times than bad and I was happy to have them over. I’d do it all the same again if asked again cause I love my little guys and want to spend as much time with them as possible.
Thanks to everyone who sent their congradulations to the previous entry. I’m still on a bit of a high since I found out one of the movies I’ve been has been selected to screen at next month’s Toronto International Film Festival. Yet I’m not going to count my eggs until they hatch. While I’m hoping to get an invite to attend the screening, I’m not going to assume that I’m automatically getting one.
I’ve sent a very polite letter to the producer, first congradulating him and the crew and also letting him know that if I’m worthy to get invited to the screening, that I will need some notice incase I have to make plans to have someone watch the kids should this screening occur when I have the boys over at my place. So I’m hoping I’ll hear back soon so that I can make the necessary plans if I get the invite to attend.
If that happens, the first week of September is going to be super, super busy for me. I’ve got face painting to do at the football game on Labour Day to raise money for chairty. Because of my efforts our face painting team has been invited to the football team’s annual Labour Day picnic the Saturday before the big game. I’m going to be able to attend practice, and then we’re going to have a BBQ lunch with the players and their families. I’m going to take Ethan along so it should be a lot of fun. If I can afford it I might get tickets to take Ethan to his first football game. So that way we’ll do both the BBQ and the game together. I guess it will depend on how Ethan responds to watching practice.
So that’s been the skinny on what’s going on up here. I hope everyone else is having a good Monday and I’ll be back later on to do another entry. Until then, take care!
Peter
