Update on Mom…

Yesterday on her birthday, my Mom has triple bypass surgery. It took over five hours to complete the process but she made it through all right and spent all night sedated in recovery. I think she was out like a light for most of the big day.

Even though Mom and I haven’t been speaking much since the big blowup in November, I still took the time to call her on Sunday (the day before) and wish her an early birthday and wish her luck. I had the boys so they both did the same which I am sure made her feel good.

While I’m sure that’s not the best way anyone would want to spend their birthday, I think she got a great gift yesterday. While recovery is not going to be easy, what happened yesterday will give her the chance to live long enough to enjoy a few more birthdays and to me that is a good trade off.

So that’s the news for now. I will update again later when I can. Everyone have a great Tuesday!
