Some people call me a bad apple…

… I may be bruised, but still taste sweet.

A week ago, I managed to get out and catch a concert that I had been dying to see for the better part of fifteen years. I took the time to weather the crowds and a huge rainfall to check out an artist I’ve been dying to see for a very long time: David Wilcox.

The Canadian artist was on my must see hit list so when I heard he was giving a free concert at Gage Park, I was there. No brainer. I asked Leah if she wanted to go with me but she passed. There were a lot of clouds, rain was an 80% certainy and she didn’t want to get wet. I didn’t care and wore stuff I didn’t mind getting wrecked and it was a good thing too, cause it poured, and poured and poured a little more. I got completely soaked but still had an amazing time. Here’s one of the clips, which turned out amazing considering all the rain that was falling:

One of many great songs Wilcox put on that night, and as you can see that was some of the rain I got seriously soaked with. I was completely drenched from head to toe but it was actually more fun that way and more memorable. Wilcox himself said when the show started that ‘the real fans’ were the ones who stay when the skies open up. He loved it and we didn’t care. It was going to take more than rain to make us go away, and the crowd had a great, wet time.

Here is another video, much drier of my favorite song played that night… which is ‘Bad Apple’, which is actually one of his most popular songs. Check it out:

It was a great show, and I would have really regretted not going even for something as silly as rain. I wish Leah had gone too, but it was okay. Maybe next time…

Is “Layin’ Pipe” another term for pooping? Standing in the rain watching a concert – dude, that’s memorable! šŸ™‚
