Blogathon # 36: Books on a deserted Isle…

Time Posted: 2:30am EST

I took a good tip from one of the note leavers who said she took a shower to wake up. I did the same 20 mins ago and I feel super refreshed!

Another question to kill an entry… so here we go:

If you were on a desert island and could only have five books with you, which would you choose?

Interesting question and I love to talk about books so I’d be happy to answer this one and let people know what are my must take books to a deserted island. Here are those books in no specific order.

– Childhood’s End (Authur C. Clarke)

– Shoeless Joe (W.P. Kinsella)

– Nero Wolfe: Too Many Cooks (Rex Stout)

– The Sonnets of William Shakespeare

– Boat building for dummies

The last one was tossed in for humor, and cause my mind was too mushy to think of another book that I wouldn’t mind reading over and over and over again. With the exception of the last one, I have a copy of the other four in my house and read them often when I don’t have anything else to read. I love opening the Sonnet book and just flipping to a randam page, and reading those sonnets.

I have a million other books that I would love to take with me, but alas since there are no bookshelves on deserted islands, I’ll leave them all at home. Let’s get everyone else in on the fun. What books would you want to take on a deserted isle?

I just read Childhood’s End a few months ago! It was my first Clarke book, I loved it.
