Feeling better, getting back to work…
Whatever was bother me started to go away late Saturday night and was pretty much gone by mid-Sunday. I’m still a little weak right now, but I’m at least eating and getting my strength back. I’ve managed to get back to the writing and I was able to pass the thirty thousand mark earlier this morning. I was hoping to pass that a lot sooner, but I’m still ahead of schedule despite this tiny blump in the road. Even though I was sick most of the weekend, I used a lot of my bed ridden time to go over my lines, and yes… I still made it to yesterdays reshoot! Call me a sucker for punishment, but I wasn’t going to bail on this film no matter what condition I was in. Not only was this a good scene for my character, it was time sensitive and I didn’t want to let everyone down. The shoot was at 6pm so I actually had most of Sunday to recover as well, so I was feeling a lot better when I got to the set.
I got there, and it only took two hours to film our scene. Thankfully out of two new scenes written for me, we were only going to do one that day (the other is a voice over I will record next week). So it didn’t take that long and when it was all said and done I got paid! Yes, I actually got a paycheque for acting! Something to bring home and show off to Leah! This was for not only last night’s work but for the work I also did in May that I wasn’t compensated for. I never got on the director’s back about it cause I don’t want to be that kind of person who does nothing but gripe and I especially don’t want to be loud when I’ve been enjoying the work and want to do another project with this specific person. Turns out my patience has not paid off by won me a great deal of respect for my maturity for not hounding him like erveryone else did. Looks like I might have a much bigger part in his next project based on how well we worked together on this film.
So when I got home, I was dead tired because the scene was shot outside in the cold. I got something to eat… watched a little tube and called it a night. I decided to hold of the book until this morning and started first thing when the kids got up. While I like a break as much as the next writer, I prefer to have one where I’m not barfing in a toilet and shaking and shivering under a blanket. I see my next break being a tad more enjoyable… perhaps in a dark theatre with a certain british spy named James Bond? Oh yeah… Quantum Of Solace is on the hit list and I place to see it this week. I will give a mini-review when that happens. I’ve heard straight A reviews from my sources so I am super pumped to check it out. But for now I’m going to bring this entry to an end and get back to the novel. Everyone enjoy the rest of their Monday!
