An evening with The Eagles…

I cannot begin to describe how amzing this show was. There was no opening act. The show started at 8:15pm, and except for a twenty-five minute intermission, it was all Eagles until 11:45pm. Three and a half hours of classic and new Eagle songs, and everything was killer. Here’s the list of songs that Leah and I heard last night at the Air Canada Center in order:

1. How Long

2. Too Busy Being Fabulous

3. I don’t want to hear anymore

4. Guilty of the crime

5. Hotel California

6. Peaceful Easy Feeling

7. I can’t tell you why

8. Witchy Woman

9. Lying Eyes

10. Boys Of Summer

11. In The City

12. In The Long Run

Intermission

1. No more walks in the woods

2. Waiting in the weeds

3. No More Cloudy Days

4. Love Will Keep Us Alive

5. Take It To the Limit

6. Long Road Out Of Eden

7. Somebody

8. One of these nights

9. Life’s Been Good

10. Dirty Laundry

11. Funk 49

12. Heartache Tonight

13. Life In the Fast Lane

Encore #1:

1. Rocky Mountain Way

2. All she wants to do is dance

Encore #2:

1. Taking It Easy

2. Desperado

Leah and I had a great time, and one really interesting thing about it is that the five seats beside is in our row were no shows for the entire show so we has some space to breathe and were not packed in like sardines. I was very surprised to see two encores, cause from the song lists I had been reading from many other concerts earlier in the tour there was only one encore, so we got a real treat that night. People actually we ready to leave after the first encore, and I turned to the guys behind me and said, “Are you sure you want to do that?” and they stayed which was the right choice cause the last two were some of the best songs they ever made.

The trip in and out by GO bus meant that we were in no rush to get in and out of the building so we were pretty easy going getting to and from the Air Canada Center. Despite their specific request for us not to use and recording devices during the show, there was absolutely no security in my section at all… to the point were people were lighting up joints and nothing happpened. So since narcoitcs that have yet to be decriminalized in Canada were being used, Leah and I felt that doing a little taping here and there wouldn’t be too bad. Below is a seven minute video of the song I was looking forward to seeing most. Leah taped this one, but despite the shaking she took full advantage of being very close to one of the big screens and the end of the video turns out really, really well. Check it out:

It was a great evening, and Leah got to see one of her favorite bands that I think she never thought she would ever get to see live in her lifetime. If you told any of us a few years back when we were still on the island that we would see the Eagles peform live, we would have laughed at ya, very loudly. Last night was a once in a lifetime event, and it was a great time had by both. I got a few more videos and photos but I’ll post them in another entry. Until then… take care everyone!

I must hate you now 😛

Huh. I think the only songs I would have liked to see were Life’s Been Good and Rocky Mountain Way (Joe Walsh’s solo songs) and Dirty Laundry and Boys of Summer (Henley’s solo songs). But hey, glad you guys had a good time!
