Two days away…

Feels like it was just yesterday Chris and I conspired to purchase these tickets for Leah, but it’s been over three months. I got these tickets on April 21st, to see what is one of Leah’s favorite bands. The show sold out in less then 15 minutes and two more shows have been booked and sold out since then, but we got tickets to the first of three shows. And now our wait is almost over.

This coming Monday Leah and I are going to see the Eagles at the Air Canada Center. The show starts at 8pm, and there is no opening act, the show is going to be all Eagles from start to finish. It’s going to be an amazing show, and hopefuly one Leah and I will not soon forget. With all the band members pushing over 60, this is quite possibly their last tour but then again, you never know.

It took the Eagles over half a decade to get back together after their last tour to make this new album and commit to touring so many are thinking this could be it. We’ll have to see but many are treating this like the grand finale, which is why I had to jump at th chance to go cause if this is it i would have kicked myself for not giving Leah a chance to see one of her favorite bands of all time.

So this weekend we have something to look forward to. My only regret is that the concert is on a Monday. I really wish Leah could have taken the day off, rather than worked and then rushed into Toronto afterwards. I would have liked to make a day of it. Could have taken her to the Eaton Center to do a little browsing, taken her out for dinner, maybe to the Hockey Hall of Fame (which is right beside ACC) and then right to the concert afterwards. We could have made a whole day of it.

But I’ll take Monday with a ‘my glass is 99% full’ attitude beacuse we are going to see this band:

This is the song I dying to see and hear in person, and yes… they have been performing Hotel California Electric the entire tour. This video was recorded in March, at the begining of the tour so I can’t wait to experience it in person. I haven’t been to any concerts this year, but if it’s nice to know if Leah and I only do one show this year… it was a big one. Possibly one of the biggest to hit Toronto this year, so that’s cool.

There’s a chance I might try to surprise Leah with something else for our annivarsary, but I’m not sure I will be able to make things come together in time. We’ll have to see. I have a few ideas that I’m working on for that and her birthday, so if I have my way this will not be the only show she sees this year and the only big thing we do together this year.

Yet for now the we’re down to three days! I can’t wait… and I will be taking a fully charged digital camera with me as well but I can’t guarentee I’ll be able to get anything decent, our seats are pretty high up. But I’ll see what I can do, but no promises. Posted below is another video of what is my favorite song from the new album ‘Long Road Out Of Eden’ which is called ‘Waiting in the Weeds’. It is a beautifully written ballad, a masterpiece of lyrics. Have a listen and you’ll know why I’m hoping this is one of the tunes they’ll perform on Monday. Hope everyone has a good weekend and I might be back with something else if I can. Until then, take care.

Peter
