Post Interview Report…

The interview was at 10am this morning, but didn’t start until twenty past the hour. I was there ten minutes early just to be prompt, but it turns out the lady doing the interview was running late cause she had to take her toddler into the hospital with an ear infection. This was the only interview I had that day so I had all the time in the world, and waited patiently. That seemed to impress everyone as not a single word of protest came out of me and I waiting quietly. Turns out the 10:30 interview wasn’t as pleased and left his interview before my ride showed up to pick me up after mine was done. Not the way to make an impression if you want a job.

Once in the interview, she tried to apologize for being late, but being the Dad of a 3 year old that had more than a few fevers at the hospital… I perfectly understood. It was a good ice-breaker and cleared the way for an amazing interview. I couldn’t have a better answer for every question she had, and we had a great 45 minute interview. Turns out this job is another call center, but the difference between this one and the other I turned down this week is attitude. This is a smaller center currently with less than a hundred people on the floor and I could tell that the staff here is much more friendly, and they seemed very pleasant while talking to them all today. They all seemed very approachable and nice to be around. While this is the same work I did on the island, I would be happy to work at this center just based on the fact that they seem to have a better idea of what they’re doing and with such a small force that seems to be expanding rather quickly, room for promotion is prime.

I had a good feeling about this place, and I clearly aced the interview. Not only do I have the knowledge to do this job, but the last center makes me overqualified cause I know more products than everyone on the floor does. This was a great interview, and they are right beside a bus route which means transport will not be a problem. This one went really well… so well I expect them to call me back with an offer soon. So well that I cancelled tomorrow’s interview. I have no interest in commuting to Toronto, that is too expensive and not worth the trip. I have one left for Monday, but I don’t pass on that until I get an offer.

So today was good… and to top it all off, the furniture is here! So the kids are doing better cause they got all their toys back! Everyone is doing a little better. I hope everyone out there is doing well too and I’ll be around.

What exactly do you do at the call center? I get the part about taking calls (hehe), but who calls and for what purpose? I’ve wondered that forever, haha!
