Night with the guys and Casino Royale

Leah is going out tonight to hang out with her friends and have a drink with them for the last time before we move out. This is good cause she needs a moment to say goodbye, and last night I had my chance to do the same. I went out with my friends to hang out and do a few things, most likely for the last time before moving to Ontario. We did a few things, but the highlight of the night was checking out the newest James Bond movie titled “Casino Royale”. The movie in a nutshell was amazing. This was the best Bond movie I have seen in a long, long time. This was better than any Bond movie that Brosnan has ever made… and I have a feeling that if the movies remain this kickass, then Daniel Craig is going to be agent 007 for quite a few films. A critic said that this is the best Bond film since Connery. I have to confirm that, this movie is that good.

The theatre was packed… not a single seat available. Everyone seemed to have a great time, and I can see word of mouth helping this become on of the more successful films of the year. With nothing really huge coming over for at least the next few weeks, a lack of real competition will help this Bond film rake in the bucks and be one of the most successful of the franchise’s history. It’s scoring a 96 on the tomato meter, and for good reason… this film is all that and I loved watching it. This Bond was rash, arrogant and at times full of himself…. but that made for a better a film and character to watch. I really think the franchise is in good hands with Craig as Bond… and I think when people see this film, they’ll agree.

After the movies, the guys wanted to go out for a drink, and who was I go argue? We played a few games of pool and I had just one drink, which was enough. It was fun to hang out and say goodbye to my buds from the island. I’ll miss them all, but they know that I have to do this for good reason. Raising my family to the best of my ability is my top priority, and comes first… always. But that was my night, and Leah is going to have hers tonight with her girlfriends. And then next week she’ll get a chance to visit her Mom and family one more time before the move too. The chance to say good bye to everyone she loves is very important, and she’ll get her chance. This is important cause it gives us a clean slate going to our new location… which is what we’ll need in order to make a good transition.

So that’s the news from the island for now. I’ve got the weekend off and will use it to write and and pack a few boxes. Everyone take care and later on tonight I should be back with more… until then, adue.
