My Next 30 Years

I’m at the center, not exactly the place I want to be on my birthday. But here I am taking calls and earning the money for the family. I took a day off last week, so I couldn’t afford to do that again this week, but I really needed that day last week so it’s working out for the better. Last week I was massively stressed out, but a new medication I’m taking seems to be working a little better so things are on the up and up.

Back to the big day. I turn 31 today. I’m offically out of the 25-30 bracket and have upgraded to the 30-35 age group. I’m quickly getting up there, and not getting any younger. But things are going all right. I’ve been married for over eight years to a wonderful lady, and we have two boys that are nothing short of amazing. Things could always be better, but they could always be worse too… so to diss what I have right now would make me a smige ungrateful cause I know there are millions if not billions of people around the world who would trade spots with me in a heartbeat.

Funny thing is last night when playing songs on the MP3 player which was set to random, one of the songs that came on was Tim McGraw’s “My Next 30 Years” which is a song about him going past his 30 mark. I’m into that part of my life as well. I’m already a year into my next thirty, and while I haven’t done too much so far… it’s not for a lack of effort ot desire to do bigger and better things. I don’t plan to stay at the center forever, but for now it will have to do until my other projects get up off the ground…

But for now I’m at work and will have to make the best of it. As a treat for myself, I made two shark sandwiches for lunch… on sourdough bread. Something special since I have to be at work on this day. It’s a good sandwich and it gives me something to look forward to while I’m working. I’m also looking forward to going home and spending time with my boys on my big day as well. Have a nice meal with them and maybe give the boys a bath before tucking them in for the night.

So here’s to birthday 31. Hopefully this will be a good year for everyone… not just the birthday boy.

Peter
