Big Brother, Supernova and the Wonder Pets!
The station that broadcasts kids shows here in Canada (Treehouse) recently released their new fall schedule. The look on my face must have been priceless when I discovered that Ethan’s new favorite show “The Wonder Pets” had been picked up and would debut this week in Canada. The show debuted last night, and I activated my DVR to record the episode for Ethan. The little guy has watched the episode half a dozen times since it first aired last night. It airs three times a week on Treehouse so I’ll have to tape them all to get a bit of a variety on the go… but this means I can stop looking for them online. I’ve tried every download engine and contact I had online, and for months I was unsuccessful to get an episodes downloaded. Thankfully I don’t have to worry about that anymore and Ethan is as happy as a pig in shit about this…
Getting to a program more suited for someone my age, I watched Big Brother 7 tonight and was happy to see that Janelle finally grew a brain and realized what Chill Town was up to. That being said she gave Will the boot and kept Erica to keep her ‘Girl Power’ alliance in tact. The look on Mike Boogie’s face was quite priceless when his bud walked out. But he got his revenge during the HOH competition. During what was supposed to be a long competition that would have caused a lot of spoiler sites to crash, Boogie didn’t feel like hanging around so he asked Julie during the live feed if she remembered Richard Hatch (from season 1 of Survivor). Upon responding yes, Boogie proceeded to drop from the competition and eliminate himself. Just like Hatch did in Survivor, he knew that neither woman could take the other to the finals or they would risk losing the cash. It’s a gutsy gamble but he’s right. Janelle was so shocked by Boogie’s actions, that her hand slipped off her key and she eliminated herself as well. I think there are a few angry producers at CBS right now cause that massive volcano I’m sure the spend a lot of coin to make was never used to it’s full potential. I think it’s their fault for making the competition too tough. Janelle was in denial about letting go, but I’m sure they’ll so her the tape the next time she’s in the diary room. That was a great episode… it will be interesting to see what happens next.
After that was an interesting episode of Rockstar Supernova. The singers again gave a killer performance, but the weakest singer of the night was easy to spot. Dilana’s lack of writing ability stood out like a sore thumb and Gilby was quick to crush it like a bug under his foot. Compared to the writing ability of the other singers, she looked rather pathetic when it comes to lyric writing. Even Storm kicked her ass with the original song, and that’s saying something. I have a feeling this is the week we’ll be saying good bye to Dilana. That’s my predict based on performance… everyone else was so much better. She’s lucky the band didn’t give her the boot last week cause of her behavior. The fact that Ryan’s songs are selling the most on MSN proves the band might have been too quick to give him the boot… I’ll be there to buy Ryan’s first album when it’s released. Here’s hoping the title of his first album is ‘Dark Horse’…
Speaking of Rockstar, last year’s band (INXS) has booked a show to play here on the island on November 9th. Tickets go on sale this Saturday and as much as I would love to see this amazing bad that I’ve been a fan of forever, I can’t afford to right now. I’ve got two birthdays to get stuff for and family comes first. I’ve got a huge payday coming next month when all the paperwork from EI settles up, so if the concert doesn’t sell out I might have a chance to get some last minute tickets. I’m not holding my breathe here, but that’s possible but not likely. Should be a kickass show, but I’ll have to catch them next time. It Would be nice if Supernova came here next year, that would be a cool show to check out. Since INXS is coming here, I guess it’s possible they would as well. I know Leah would love to see that show…
Hope everyone is having a good week, and its early so chances are I’ll be back to post again and leave some notes for my favs. Until then, everyone take care…
Peter
Isn’t it amazing how little kids can watch the same show over and over within such a short span of time? Sheesh, you can almost say the kids are on autopilot!
