My Feet Hurt…
It’s been a tiring morning, but again this is self inflicted so I have no one to blame but myself. I had two options for Saturday, and both required working. I could go back to the center and clock some OT, or take another offer to Umpire a Softball tournament. I was offered $100 for the days work and since I didn’t feel like sitting on my arse all day this time out, I took the softball tournament. As a result, I was standing on my feet and officiating 10 games over a span of 12 hours. It seemed like a good idea at the time. Turns out I did such a good job, the person who was running the tournament, asked me to stay after some umps went home to referee the finals. So I ended doing more games than any other ump there.
For the first several games, there was a lot of fog, and that made it hard for outfielders to keep their eye on the ball… but they managed. Later on it got a lot brighter and clearer, but during the finals is when it started to rain. There were some points where it was just pouring, but the teams were determined to finish that day, and it did slow down a lot so we managed to finish the finals, which is good cause I didn’t feel like finishing it this morning. So when it was all said and done, I was a hundred dollars richer, and did get some food and drink between games but by the time I got home my legs and feet were killing me. What I also did was take the $100 that I got from the work yesterday and stashed it away in a jar… for my movie. I need to start putting money away for that and I think after all the hard work I did yesterday, putting that away for the movie made it all worth it.
With my legs killing me, I promptly went to bed and called it a night. My legs are still a little sore this morning, but later on Ethan and I are going to hit the mall and get a few things taken care of. but until then, i’m just going sit here with the kids and watch cartoons until Leah gets up. I wouldn’t mind having Leah and Jonathan come with Ethan and I to the mall, but if she’s not up to it, I’ll take Ethan with me and we’ll be fine. But until then, we’re watching one of Ethan’s favorite Wiggle DVDs. He just had PB&J on toast, a banana and a glass of juice for breakast… so he’s doing all right.
And one more thing, seems I missed something cool when I was out making some hard earned cash. Jonathan crawled for the first time, and even attempted to stand up, which is amazing for only seven months old. I’m sure I’ll get a chance to see that later this weekend… but for now I’m going to relax and take things easy. I hope that everyone else has a good weekend and I’ll be around…
