A Big Brother/ Supernova entry…
Last night Leah and I had a fun night watching summer reality television. CBS has an amazing lineup on Tuesday nights, with an hour of Big Brother and then an hour of live performances from Rockstar: Supernova. I read the spoiler sites so I already knew what happened, but the sites did this week’s veto competition no justice. It was psychologically brutal and I can’t believe Danielle went all out only to be sold out by all her partners. There was no reason for Janelle to win this, but somehow she managed to pull it out by torturing all the other houseguests. Seems rather low, eh? Everyone has to eat slop, get no hot water and sleep on military cots while she basks with the veto. I’m starting to really not like her. First she turns her back on her own alliances to save her own hide and now she’s selling everyone out to save herself again. Not cool at all.
I was really hoping James would make the comeback and win the veto, but it never happened. Turns out even he couldn’t resist a few temptations. That call from home was a big one, and I don’t I would have been able to resist that either. Boogie and Will were just flat out greedy and abused it to the complete max. Danielle had every right to be pissed cause she was trying to win and was getting no help at all. I would have been livid if my team pretty much pissed away a chance to kick Janelle out of the house for some shit prizes. Bunch of wussies were not able to hold their own and if Janelle wins, this could be seen as the one chance they had but threw away. I was very impressed with Danielle’s willingness to going into solitary to get the veto. She was there to play and you gotta respect her for going all out. It was a ruthless veto competition, and I’m curious to see what the show is going to do to top that one next week.
So now Janelle is out of the hotseat (veto) and taking her place was Kaysar. That was predictable… and it will be interesting to see if he or James are shown the door. A close vote would favor James, as he has that nulify a vote in his back pocket from last week’s HOH comp. So Kaysar has to win by two to stay, or james will nulify a vote and tie it up. If it’s tied, than the HOH (Danielle) would make the tie-breaker and kick Kaysar out. That will make for a very, very interesting eviction vote tomorrow… can’t wait!
After BB7 was over, it was time for a new live episode of Rockstar Supernova. Leah and I are big time hooked on this show. We should have taped it and went to bed, but couldn’t resist watching the show. Last week, I thought one of the better performers was kicked off while other slackers were left untouched. Will that happen again this week? Leah and I were inspired to vote this week, but first we had to watch the perfomances to see what would happen.
Dilana – Won’t get fooled again (The Who) – With Gilby doing an amazing job on guitar, this song rocked. While Dilana doesn’t have the pipes to compete, she has amazing stage presence and thankfully she didn’t offend Gilby with any bumping and grinding this time out for him…
JIll – Mother Mother (Tracy Bonham) – I’ve never heard of this song before, but I thought she did all right. Much better than her previous efforts.
Ryan – Paint It Black (Rolling Stones) – While I thought his set up was a tad corny, you gotta give the man props for trying to shake things up. He’s trying to keep things from being the same old same old and I thought his vocals were amazing which was good cause you’d think all the jumping around would have make it diffucult to keep up with this kind of song…
Storm – We Are The Champions (Queen) – While some thought this was a gutsy performance, I on the other hand think it was a safe choice. Nothing special and now real rocking involved. It was a safe choice compared to her last few songs…
Zayra – All The Young Dudes (David Bowie) – I have no idea why she’s still here… oh, wait… I do. She’s eye candy, nothing more. That band and fans are curious to see what red light district outfit she’s wearing this week. Don’t get me wrong, Zayra is a beautiful woman, but her arrogance and Celine Dion accent is just too much to handle, no matter how hot she looks in a skin tight catsuit. Worst of all, Leah noticed the was mumbling some of her lines out, and asked why she was doing that. I responded it was because she was forgetting the lyrics. Bad performance… and the guys need to look beyond the catsuit and kick her out, now!
Josh – Interstate Love (Stone Temple Pilots) – This was a pleasent surprise. Not only did Tommy Lee take the drums and jam with Josh without notice, Josh stepped it up and made a killer performance. Gilby was right about the guitar restricting his movement. However, he did good with that and held his own with Tommy… a great effort.
Magni – The Dolphins Cry (Live) – This was in my opinion the best performance of the night. I even think this was better than Ryan’s solo last week cause Magni showed more range and never had to scream to reach high levels. Magni has great range and he showed it off last night perfectly with a song that had many high and low notes and he didn’t miss a single one. This is why I think he’s the early favorite to win it all.
Patrice – Instant Karma (John Lennon) – I love the song, but I think it was another poor choice for Patrice. It was too much pop and not enough rock. This will land her in the bottom three again, I guarentee it.
Lukas – Creep (Radiohead) – Where the hell did this come from? Lukas finally let it all go and actually sang his song rather than grunt it out. Jason and Tommy were on their feet and cheering louder than the crowd at the end of this one. Clearly they loved to actually hear what kind of vocals Lukas is capable of pumping out. While I personally like Magni the most tonight, I’m 90% sure this song Lukas sang will be tonight’s encore.
Toby – Burnin’ Down The House (Talking Heads) – Toby had a good thing going… right up until he used that maga-phone. Toby gets an A for effort cause he’s holding nothing back cause he wants to win this thing so bad. But he killed his momentum when he did that… which was a shame cause up to that point he was rocking.
So as you can see, overall it was a good night of music from the Supernova audtions. As they trim the field down, the performances are going to get better and better as only the best singers remain. I can’t wait to see who steps up and really starts to kick ass. JD did it last year and took it all with one good streak. Let’s see who tries to go all the way to impress the fuck out of Supernova. Until then, here is who I think is going to make the bottom three:
Bottom 3: Patrice, Jill and Zayra
In a perfect world, Zayra goes home… but if Jill makes the bottom again she’ll go this time unless she gives another killer performance. Will be interesting to watch the elimination show tonight. I’ve got to get back to work, everyone take care and I’ll be around.

There’s controversy over this years UK Big Brother. Viewers have been asked to vote for four evicted housemates to go into a secret house and one will get back into the main house after a housemate vote. That person will then also be eligible for the prize. Fans have formally complained to the body in charge of these things as they feel that they’ve been ripped off.
Warning Comment
Reality Shows are the worst, I have yet to understand how anyone can get into them. Now comedy improv shows are great. Whose Line, Mind of Mencia, Family Guy, those are great shows.
