Blogathon # 21: Feeding Time…
Time: 8:31pm Island Time (7:01pm EST)
Usually before my boys to go bed, we give them snack so that way they go to bed with a full belly and that prevents them from getting up earlier than usual. That way Leah and I can get as much sleep as possible, which has been hard to come by sometimes. Right now Jonathan is sucking on a bottle of formula, and Ethan munched on an apple before tossing away in the trash can. I used to cut up his apples for him, but lately Ethan wants to eat the apple whole and he’s very good at eating apples that way.
Something funny to tell you concerning Ethan and fruit. One day when I took Ethan to the mall, he wanted to have an apple but all they had there were oranges. I grabbed one and was going to peel and split it with the little dude. What ended up happening is that Ethan took the Orange and bit right into it like he did the apple. He didn’t like the taste of the orange peel that much and tossed the orange away. Even after I peeled it, he never ate the orange, convinced that the rest of it tasted just as bad. It was a good laugh, but I don’t think he’e eaten an orange since. I guess we’ll have to give that another go…
Ethan really isn’t a picky eater. He’s been pretty open to new foods and tried things that I didn’t even think he would consider. When we were at my cousin’s wedding in March, he ate Rabbit, Octopus and other interesting stuff and didn’t complain about it at all. The rabbit was the one he kept asking for. Later on that night I shared my veal and chicken with Ethan as the courses were being served. He ate quite a bit, but never went to sleep until very late. That was a bit of a bummer cause that night we were all exhausted.
So everyone is having a good feed right now, and I’ll get something to eat once both boys are in bed and resting. Might get those nachos I’ve been writing about in previous entries. Hope everyone else is doing a bit better than I am at the moment and I’ll see all of you in 30 minutes!
