Greetings from Toronto!

Well, we’re here. I didn’t know if I cold post anything, but my cousin has a broadband internet account, so I have the ability so all I needed was the time. Since Ethan and Leah are still asleep and Jonathan is happily cooing away at my feed in his carseat… I think there’s enough time to spit out a quick entry. Things are going pretty much as well as can be expected and we’re all here safe and sound. Can’t pretty much ask for more than that.

The flight from the island to the big city was pretty smooth most of the way. Ethan spent a little over 90 minutes running around the airport terminal, tuckering himself out. That however was the plan as I didn’t make him take his usual nap and he passed out about five minutes before boarding. As a result, Ethan slept about 90% of the flight. We also fed Jonathan about an hour before the flight, so he slept most of the way too. The result was a decent flight which allowed Leah and I to take advantage of a sweet new On Demand system which was on our flight. We had touch screens in front of each seat and we were able to select from any movie or TV show we wanted to watch. The days of being forced to watch crappy movies and Mr. Bean are finally over!

I was tempted to watch Capote, which was a movie on my must see hit list, but since only one side of the headset was working, I passed on it and watched an old episode of House and C.S.I instead. It was a sweet new feature and one I look forward to take full advantage of on the way home. We also packed our own food cause we were flying on the no frills airline. SO while the drink was free, the food was not. I packed sandwiches for Leah and I and juice and his usual favorite snacks for Ethan. When he eventually woke up, the snacks were enough to keep him occupied until we landed. So in all it was a good flight. Mom and Dad met us in the baggage pick up area and we all managed to get back to my cousin’s home in quick time. We’re staying here at this house cause this cousin (Sister of the Bride) will not be here at all cause she’s the maid of honor. Worked out well for us but we have a room at a hotel booked for tomorrow to be closer to he wedding. That way when its time to call it a night, I can leave quickly.

The weather here in the city is really good as well. Compared to what we have on the island, the weather here is so nice, I’ve been leaving the building without a jacket on. While the locals think I’m nuts, they just don’t understand. I also had a chance to pick up some fantastic fast food for what might be the last time before I start my strict diet on Monday when I get home. We had Harvey’s which is a great burger chain here in Ontario, and is not available on the island. It’s always been one of my favs and yesterday was the first time I had a bite of their stuff in almost three years. Hopefully I’ll have a chance to get my hands on some Taco Bell, but it’s doubtful we’ll have the time. But that’s all right, after two and half months of nothing huge, I’ll reward myself with it when I come back in May to pick up Leah and the kids.

I can’t wait for the wedding for so many reasons. My cousin Susan is a great person and I’m glad she’s happy with someone she loves. This was a Wedding I didn’t want to miss. I’m also excited to introduce Jonathan to everyone, and to some this will be the first time they’ve met Ethan as well. Having everyone here for the wedding has made it a prime time to introduce the kids. There was word that kids might not have been allowed to come to the ceremony and reception, but they changed their mind cause there are too many kids on both sides and they wanted everyone to be there. Was really sweet of them to allow he to bring my boys along too. There’s going to be an 8 course Italian dinner during the reception and a free bar. Oh yes, a lot of people are going to get trashed tonight… but I however will not be one of them. I’m staying sober and voluteering to take care of the kids so Leah can party and get trashed.

Leah is going to be taking care of the kids in Tennessee and I’ll be on my own on the Island for the next two months starting on Monday. So between the two of us, who deserves to get trashed tonight. I’ll have plenty of chances to drink with the guys when I’m back on the island, tonight is her night and I hope she tears up the town. Speaking of which, Leah tried on her new dress and it fits! It’s georgous and I already took a picture or two of it and can’t wait to download the pics to my PC on monday. However the suit I ordered didn’t fit. So the emergency money we were going to use to get Leah a new dress incase hers didn’t fit went to buying me a new suit. But I didn’t want to be a burden so we went with a nice new pair of black dress pants and a kickass navy blue sports jacket. It looks amazing and will look good in the pictures. If I lose a few pounds, the other suit will fit, so I might have two in the end… so I have another reason to stick to that diet come Monday.

So that’s it from the big TO. I hope everyone is doing well, and since I doubt the hotel has any access to the internet (you never know) I can’t promise anymore entries for the rest of the weekend. Like I said above, I have a digital camera and I plan to take at least a hundred pictures so there will be a ton to share when you when I eventually get back to the island. So until I get back to the Island, I hope everyone has a bitchin’ weekend and and I’ll see you guys around!

Peter

The last time we flew transcontinental, and broke out a seemingly endless parade of sandwiches, juices, chips and cookies, I thought we were going to have to fight off the hungry travelers who didn’t bring food.

RYN: i’m on the fence as to whether to see “inside man”. on the one hand it looks like a familiar plot (bank robbery/ hostage situation) but on the other hand clive owen looks really intense in the previews, and the director is spike lee, who wouldn’t driect a film if it was just by-the-numbers, so something else must be going on for him to helm the project. i guess i’ll decide next week. =)

If it wasnt Spring Training, I’d tell ya to catch a Blue Jays game for me. They beefed up this year and will finish a strong 3rd in the division 🙂
