More fun with Vaseline

Turns out Ethan is having a lot of fun with the Vaseline that Leah and I use to change him and his brother with. We’ve got to watch that little bugger like a hawk, or the next thing you know, he’s putting a fresh coat of the stuff on the kitchen table. There was one incident that occurred when I was changing Jonathan earlier this week. Ethan came over and got a first hand view of what we actually use the vaseline for, and found it very interesting when I was applying some to his brother. Not one to be left out, Ethan took a small bit of the stuff into his hand and began to rub it into Jonathan’s hair. I did my best not to laugh and shooed Ethan away so I could clean his brother’s hair. I told Leah after she got up from a nap and she also had a good laugh from it.

You can’t get mad at Ethan when he does stuff like this. When you take a moment to step back and analyze what he’s doing, you realize he’s only trying to be helpful, which is much preferable to jealousy. It’s a good sign to how well Ethan is adapting from being the only child to a big brother. He’s doing so well and is actually taking the changes very well for a kid of his age.

For all the changes we’ve tossed his way, Ethan has been a real trooper and is doing just fine. With the move, the new brother and the big trip to Tennessee to visit the Grandparents… it’s nice to see that the little guy is okay with change. Just don’t forget to bring his Wiggle DVDs… or then we’ll have trouble.

I couldn’t be more proud of my little guy, and now that I’ve got that great photo option… I plan to post a few more pictures of them for everyone to enjoy. So until then, everyone have a great morning!

Glad that your eldest is adjusting well to his new kid brother. My sister’s oldest had a hard time when with her new sister. It made things really tough for my sister for the 4-5 months or maybe more. They get along OK now, for the most part… as much as a 4 yo and a 2 yo can get along…lol. I always hear them bickering in the background when I call my sis. But they can be sweet too.

Ethan sounds like a great kid 🙂

My daughter colors on everything, she’s learning shapes now. She draws on any piece of paper she finds. If I get mad because one of my bills is to high, I let her draw on it to ease my frustration. I guess that’s better then the vaseline thingy.

RYN: At least my daughter isnt drawing on the walls and appliances and keeps it to paper. I can be glad of that.
