Checking out the new crib
No one likes to be left without money when you have a few important things to pick up… and I’m no different. Leah got her cheque today so I was able to pick up a few nick knacks that we badly needed for tomorrow. Jonathan is getting his two month needles tomorrow, so I needed to pick up a small box of children’s tynenol so that it won’t be so bad for the little guy. I also picked up some new crayons for Ethan cause he’s starting to wear out the ones he’s got now. I also managed to also get some new film for my camera, cause I think we’ve been neglecting Jonathan in the picture department. I know everyone here would love to see some new photos of the little guy so now I’ll have to get onto that as well. I’m going to make sure we take a ton of photos at the wedding next month, so that just means I’ll have a lot of fillm to develop next month. Jonathan is smiling a lot and cooing as well, so this is the best time to take new pictures and I think Leah and I should book Jonathan for his first potrait before we leave for Toronto. It will be cool to have both Ethan and Jonathan pose for the portrait and then to three poses of each of them alone to make a full slate that much cooler.
Work has been pretty much the same old, same old this week. I don’t mind the work and I really have no complaints about it, but I’ve got to keep my head clear and not let the move of the babies distract me from the goal which is go make money so we can all live a little easier. The work really isn’t that hard, and those who complain about taking call really hasn’t done real work in their employment history. While the job isn’t that tough, management is actually more stressful than the job itself. I’ve had my moments with management and I really have a huge beef with how they run the floor. They always assume the worst of people and never really go out of their way to praise good worth ethic. If this floor was run with a more work for something better instead of a do this or else attitude, you would get more production from the floor and boost morale which at the moment has been beaten in the fine powder. The people running this show are trying to use fear of punishment or firing to keep people in place and while that will work for many, it usually results in a lot of turnover and people coming and going too fast to keep track of.
I still can’t believe I’ve been here this long… but the move closer to this place and walking to work instead of busing will make this easier as well. No more worrying about whether or not I’m going to make my bus. No more panicing about being able to afford the next bus pass or if I’ll have to walk to work on the weekends and holidays when the buses are not running. This alone will make work a little easier to tolerate, and I’m also gunning to get a pass at the new gym that is located beside work. Now that this huge gym is only a 15 minute walk away from our new home, I’ll be able to take advantage of the discount that is offered to the center. We get a 30% discount and can get a pass for $19 every two weeks, which is a steal. Combine those workouts with our new fourth floor appartment, and the pounds are just melt away… hopefully. With Leah and the kids gone during March/April, I plan to start my gym membership then and just hit the ground running. I’ll do small stuff first, and then slowly work my way up based on my progress. The cool thing about our discount for the center is that we will get access to a personal trainer who will help me organize a workout routine. This is why I think it will work, cause I usually work very well when I stick to a routine and an organized schedule. So I’m looking forward to giving that a try and using my time alone to get it off to a good start.
So with the move a week away, I’m finally going to get a chance to also see the new place tonight. It doesn’t have to be perfect to impress me. The fact that Leah wants it pretty much makes it a done deal… so the place has to be the ultra shits for me to turn it down, which I doubt it will be. The just cleaned the place up and made it tip top. So as long as it has a good bit of space and the three bedrooms are half decent, I’ll pretty muich ask for the keys tonight and try to start moving stuff in ASAP. So with that the move will begin… can you say yuck with a capital Y? No one likes to move, but at the moment the goods seem to outweigh any bads that I might find with have to pack all my crap up, so I’ll just have to suck it up and be a man and take it in stride.
So after I check out the new place, I’ll post an entry and let you guys know what I thought of the new place. Like my views will change the final decision… doubt. Very doubtful. Anyway, I hope everyone has a good hump day, and I’ll be around.
Peter
good luck with the move, I used to work in a call centre, I always found the job itself was not so bad, it was the politics that run rampant in places like that, silly peoples

gotta get a crayon sharpener! How about posting a drawing of Ethan’s?

No offense, but Tylenol and vaccinations is a very bad idea. You want him to feel everything, because sometimes a bad reaction starts out as just pain. Fortunately for us, the worst reaction we had with any of our daughters was a rock-solid lump where the injection was given, but if she had been given an NSAID, it’s possible that lump would have gone unnoticed. Make certain you ask yor doctor

exactly what forms reactions take, and let the poor guy get his injections without the Tylenol. It’s tough to hear them cry, but in this case, it’s a good idea to let them feel the pain.

RYN: It’s obviously your call, but I question the judgement of any doctor who advises a drug to mask potential symptoms. We’ve had several pediatricians in several states, and none gave injections that caused my three girls enough pain to warrant anything more than momentary tears. I just don’t think the Tylenol is warranted. And I never doubted it was anything but children’s Tylenol.

Good luck with the move and the work out goals. I need to work out. *sigh*
