The Big “M”
The one thing I hate to do has stuck it’s ugly head out again to annoy me again like never before. Leah has found an appartment she wants and wants to move. There’s nothing I can say or do to prevent it… we’re going to start packing tonight and the big day is March 1st.
We’re going to have no problems with our Landlord because they own the other building she wants to move into. The building we currently live in is close to the Univeristy, so there will be zero trouble getting someone else to take this place… so they’re all for this move. We’re moving to a part of town that is harding to get people for… but it’s only a 10 minute walk from the call center which means I no longer have to take the bus to get to work. It’s also a 3 bedroom appartment, and the rent is the exact same price we’re paying now for a 2 bedroom joint.
I personally hate moving, but this time out I won’t have to do as much work. We’re going to pay a few hundred to get all our big stuff moved for us. They’ll be a truck and a half a dozen guys to move it all for us and all we’ll have to do is point to where it goes. Before the big day, I’ll actually get a bud to help me take the fragile stuff over first, so that none of it will risk getting damaged during the move. Stuff like paintings , the computer, and most likely all our dishes will be there before all the othe stuff makes the trip.
One major difference besides location will be what floor we live on. Right now we’re living on the second floor of our building. The new building has a vacany only on the fourth floor. That’s a lot of stairs to climb, but I think Leah and myself could use the exercise and I know Ethan could use the practice so it won’t be that bad. I just pity the fools I’m gonna pay to heave all my furnature up four flights. Have fun there guys… sucks to be you.
As much as I hate to move, especially so far to the other side of town… I have put up little or no fight. Pretty much as long as the apapartment is in decent shape, Leah is going to take it. They’re actually fixing the place up now so it’s going to be more than half decent which means we’re moving. The dresser incident earlier this week proved to us that we need a place with more room and with 3 bedrooms it also means we can give Jonthan his own room without pushing him onto Ethan too soon. We need the space, so as much as I hate change… I do realize how necessary this chance of location is.
I will be closer to work, and our doctor is only half a block away from this building too. There are so many good reasons to take this place that I have no excuse and reason to fight it. So this weekend (which I happen to have off) Leah and I are going to spend the entire time packing stuff up and tossing some unnecessary stuff into the dumpster. I’m also going to hit Wally Mart and get a few more plastic bins. We’re going to need them, we have a lot of crap here.
So that’s the biggest news here. I’ll post reports as the move progresses. Leah and I are hoping to get the new keys a few days before March 1st so we can move in some stuff early. Like I said to get the fragile stuff out of the way… but needless to say unless something huge changes her mind (which I doubt will happen) our location will be a changing in 19 days.

I know what you mean about moving, but the pluses definitely outweigh the fact that you don’t like moving. My first move was great; the second, a nightmare. In one way, moving is good…you have to face the useless things in that tucked away closet and pitch a lot of junk.
