Good Superbowl this year…

It was a late night here on the island last night. Due to time zones, the superbowl didnt’ end until around 11:30pm. That was actually impressive as I remember a lot of Superbowls past going past 12:30 or 1am, so it ended rather early tonight. The Steelers won, which wasn’t all that surprising. I was just happy that they mananged to pull off a gadget play. That play was basically the final nail in the coffin… after that Elvis had a better chance of coming back. The Seahawks also showed their youth and inexperience last night by the way they handled the ball at the end of the second and forth quarters. Their organization was sloopy, and they were incapable of sticking a single game plan. I mean who the fuck runs the ball with less than a minute left in the half with no time outs? I know Alexander is the MVP, but that was the stupidest play I’ve ever seen. Bad coaching and bad calls by those calling the offense led to Seattle’s demise. They had plenty of good chances to score and they failed to capitalize on them. They had a chance to take the game but made a dozen rookie mistakes and took bad penalties that cost them big points.

And for those who don’t think Ben Roethlisberger scored that touchdown in the first half, you would be mistaken. The ball broke the line before being pushed back out, which means it’s a touchdown. It was a good call to sneak the QB in and it worked, giving the Steelers a lead they would never give up after that score. I could amusing that Stevens who had been lipping off all year and basically guarenteeing a win for Seattle dropped the ball three times. The ball was there and thrown perfectly, butter fingers couldn’t make the big plays. Perhaps he’ll tone done the trash talk next time and concentrate on the job at hand instead. Another thing that hurt Seattle was dumb penalties. Offensive pass interference cost them a touchdown, and pushing someone away from the ball is interference so that was a good call. Then there was another call for holding that negated a play that would have brought the Seahawks to first and goal. Then they ended up missing the field goal so if Seattle wants to find someone to blame for this loss, all they have to do is consult a mirror. They have no one to blame but themselves, and Pittsburgh capitalized on the mistakes.

The half time show was pretty good as well. For a bunch of old farts in their early sixties, the Stones still kick ass as that was one of the best half time shows since U2 four years ago. I know there are a lot of critics who are pissed off that there was never a halftime show tribute to Motown cause the Superbowl was in Detroit. Well, all I can say is that the Stones are rock gods and they pretty much rocked the dome that night and gave a spectacular show. And the fact that the show wasn’t lip synced was also a nice touch too. It was a good show and they basically proved why they are still run the best tours in the world right now. Hat’s off to Mick and the boys, they still got it and did a great job.

Overall, it’s a good Superbowl experience. I managed to munch down some nachos when I wasn’t doing laundry, changing diapers and feeding the baby. I hope everyone else enjoyed the game, but the best thing about Superbowl is the fact that Spring Training is now only a month away. Play Ball!!!!

At least my Colts lost to the Super Bowl Champs, it makes it a little easier to swallow now. My Bears however did not.

Yeah they were criticizing the offensive interference, but he pushed OFF for momentum it seemed. I don’t know though, how can they call it on the offense. The other guy’s not SUPPOSED to get the ball, technically! Like charging in basketball…he was going towards the net agressively? well that’s what he’s getting paid for! 😉

come on! american public opinion was behind the steelers, so too were the refs. that was NOT a touchdown, and most of the penalties called against seattle were unfair. that’s not to say the steelers <i?couldn't have won fair and square; that’s just to say that they did not.

Superbowl? That was last night? I know that there was a Stones concert during some football game, but the Superbowl was on too?

RYN: too much thinkin! 😉 I still can’t understand whats wrong with peas. Not for nothing but heat up a can of peas, they have no flavor and are half mush. Unless that’s what the problem really is. I confess though I will eat carrtos in campbells tomoato soup. Because its flavor lacks and it is half mush.

Yeah… you’re definitely right about Ben scoring that touchdown. Not like I am biased or anything… And I have to wonder why the NFL edited out “You make a dead man come…” I mean, it’s on the radio all the time.
