Christmas Party X 2 = Lots of fun!

This week has been rather busy for Leah and I, and one reason is because my call center have two big Christmas parties on the go. The reason why there are two parties is because one of them is for kids of employees, and the other is for employess period. The kid’s Christmas party was last Sunday, and was held at the local movie theatre. Kids get a gift, a stocking and a chance to meet Santa Claus (co-worker dressed up) and watch a movie. This year the movie was ‘The Polar Express’ which was cool since neither Leah, Ethan or I had ever seen it. It was a good movie, and even Ethan seemed to have a good time watching it as well. Leah and I were a little iffy about taking Ethan to a movie at 2, but he for the most part was very mature about it and just sat down on his booster and ate popcorn while enjoying the animated movie. It was a good time had by all, and we all enjoyed the film and the party afterwards with Santa and the gifts.

Ehtan got a small blocks truck, which turned out to be a hit with the little guy. While Ethan did a great time with the movie, I don’t think he’s ready to handle being at the theatres just yet. He’s got another two or three years before he can actually sit down for that kind of time… but it was good to see him sit there and allow us all to relax and enjoy the movie too. Leah was just surprised how much Ethan loved eating his popcorn, which was another first for the little guy. We had been very hesitant to give him popcorn and watching him very carefully while he was eating it that day. So with popcorn and 5 Alive fruit juice, Ethan was pretty content to watch the movie and made this so much easier. My brother heard how much Ethan enjoyed watching that movie and actually got him a DVD of it for Xmas… so it will be interesting to see if he recognizes it and watches it like he did before. I’ll have to make sure popcorn is made available for it.

The next party coming up for my center is tomorrow, which is being held at a banquet hall down a few streets from where we live. It’s a short bus ride away but Leah and I are going to take the time to make a brief appearance. Tickets were expensive, but I wanted to give Leah a chance to get out and have a good time and since there is no smoking allowed in the building (new city by-law) then Leah will not have to worry about her or the baby’s health while having a good time. It’s going to be a lot of fun, cause Leah will get a chance to meet a lot of co-workers I’ve been talking about for a long time and they’ll get the meet the wife that I’ve been raving about forever. There’s also going to be some sweet door prices and also KAREOKE! Leah doesn’t feel comfy when I go up on stage to sing but I’m going to play it safe that night and stick to the songs that I’ve done before and not try anything new. That way Leah will be able to relax and after a few hours we’ll call it a night early. I have to work the next morning, so I will not be drinking that night and just have a smashing time with friends and the wife.

So that’s my plan for tomorrow and it’s going to be great. But for now, I’ve got to get back to work and take a few calls and make the money to feed the kids and pay the rent. Hope everyone else is having a good week and I’ll do my best to be around.

Peter
