Pictures of the House

Thought I’d share the pictures of the house I am under contract with.
Here is the front of the house.

I am getting rid of that terrible awning…maybe I’ll get a new one with my last name’s initial on it.  On the wall in the front?  I am planning on planting a lot of daffodils in the two corners.  Cute?  Yes.  Also, see the big pine tree in the right hand corner?  That is the tree that came down onto the house.

Here is the living room when you are standing in the dining room.

I love the built in.  I love the colors too, but it needs to be repainted.  I think I am going to go with the same color though.

Here is bedroom #1, the master, I think…

Okay, see the weird cabinet mounted in the wall here?  WTF, seriously?  There are weird random cabinets just like this mounted throughout the house.  They are coming DOWN!  This room is probably going to be painted a mocha color.  The freaking wallpaper is horrid and I think it’s painted on top of it.  Yeesh!

Bedroom No. 2, which will end up an office and giant closet probably.

The colors are horrible in here.  Someone was obviously a HUGE Red Sox fan as they took photos of the players and glued them to the wall as some sort of border.  Those are NOT going to be easy to get off the walls.  I don’t know what color I will paint this room.

Here is the bathroom, small but liveable.

The kitchen

I am almost positive I am going to paint the kitchen red.  I’ve always wanted a red kitchen!  Right now is has some type of weird plaid type contact wallpaper in it.  Ay yi yi, it’s going to take me a freaking YEAR or more to get all this fucking weird wallpaper off all the walls.

Walk Up Attic. 

This is partially finished, complete with weird cabinets nailed to various walls.  I will eventually finish this and convert it into an office thereby freeing up the 2nd bedroom for a guest bedroom.

Basement

It’s a lot bigger than this, but see the sink right there?  It’s an antique soapstone sink.  I will either refinish it and keep it or sell it!  The previous owner started building a cedar closet down here, I will probably finish it because there is a serious lack of closet space in this house.

Backyard

You can’t really see it from this picture, but the backyard has 3 tiers.  The uppermost tier I thought I would plant Miko’s memory rose bush and flowers.  The middle tier has a small deck (where the busted out umbrella is) for a table and some chairs and there’s a place for some grass.  The lower level will be more grass and my hammock, as well as the grill.

The Garage

Imagine that, I will have a garage.  Either it gets used for storage of things or I actually put my car into it.  Haven’t decided yet.
