umm sorry about the delay

i actually meant that in reference to my absence here, but the entry title made me laugh as i also wish to apologize on behalf of the houston area and texas in general for tom delay!

as i went to post an entry here, i checked to see when my last one was… it was private… it was a euology to my beloved basset hound which we put down at the end of last october (2006).

other updates (for those that know me) :

FirstBorn got married this last may in a spectacular wedding at the church (out of town for us) that Hubby and I married in (my mom’s church) in Irving, Texas (next to Dallas). We all thought it would be central for the bride & grooms’friends, (college 1½ hour north), the brides’s extended family (local), the groom’s hometown and extended family (new mexico, 6-8 hours west) and the bride’s hometown (4 hours south).

Thinking that it was an out of town for our local/church/hubby’s practice/… HOUSTON AREA friends, we counted on less attending and therefore set the go-ahead for a great reception at the dallas world aquarium….

well, our friends are AWESOME and they pretty much ALL SHOWED UP!

It was SPECTACULAR!!!!!!

I thought I might just include this email update to my best friends (which includes my mom) about the couple…

How have you been? Are the newlyweds all settled in?

Here is my answer (which is all I meant to include here tonight) :

…. except by the way, has anyone else read a new fiction titled The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield ? I just finished it and loved it!

On to my email to my friends:

The bride and groom just moved to Albuquerque last weekend… FB will be teaching high school chemistry (unfortunately not for graduate credit since it is not in biology) but at the high school where she related with the principal during the interview (a very good situation). FB’s Hubby (called hereafter Antaris or “A”) started med school today (monday 8/6). we called him yesterday (his 22nd birthday) and he seemed excited. i asked if they had met any friends and fb verbally kicked him in the ribs and said no, because he wouldn’t make any friends. He says (after the first week of orientation stuff) that most of the other med students are … no wait, fb was explaining for him…. anyway most of the ones that get your attention first are not the type that “A” and fb want to be friends with. … hmmm sounds familiar…

The rest of the family is getting ready for our reward vacation of the summer to top off our doing whatever for the bride and groom… the remaining 4 of us are going to scuba with dolphins at a cool resort in honduras next week. the youngest 2 (who will be a high school senior and a college sophomore) are probably are not yet aware that there will be no tv, phone (even cell) or internet where we are going… it is truly a chance to get alone with these two!

I am way ahead at my job so am taking all but one more hour off this week, and hubby just found out that in spite of taking off so much this summer, he has still met his bonus level for next quarter.

Life is good…
