Remembering to Return
Remembering to Return
I’ve never looked upon your face before.
But as my eyes experience the joy of first sight
And drink in the wonderment of its perfection
Something stirs within my being.
Your voice has never fallen on my ear.
Yet as you speak it is familiar
And I silently mouthe the words with you.
I have always understood.
Our eyes hold on to each other
And all sense of my body is gone.
I am looking at the answers to every question
And I know the truths.
I feel I am melting into you, being drawn
Back to a place I have somehow forgotten.
It feels warm here and my body fills every crevice.
I have come home.
The skin of you is as an extension of me
And it’s unclear where I begin or end.
It’s always been that way for me with you.
Though I’ve never been here before.
I have made this wonderous journey with purpose.
This place is my strength and my redemption
It is my well of understanding and my drink of knowledge.
I will return…many times.
Oooh, that’s wonderful! Happy New Year .. and do come around here more often, gal 🙂

Thank you so much for telling me what you know about the book, The Poet of Tolstoy Park. Am wondering where I saw that it was true, and why I missed seeing that confirmed in the book…but am thrilled to find that it was true after all. I will correct that in my next entry. I had said to my husband that if the book had been a true story, it would have made the reading of it more enjoyable…
