dammit! pictures…

HOLY HELL SAUCE this stupid browser keeps shutting down so i’m just going to copy and paste the email i sent to every one earlier with the addendum that i am definitely definitely definitely going to fiji because i spent the day with steve, the dude who invited me and he’s not creepy at all and in fact is really genuine and kind and warm and nice and i’m so fucking excited.

I spent the last few weeks in Golden Bay, which is located at the top of the south island. I’m a bit short for time but I did post pictures on flickr… I went to one of the eeriest and most wonderful beaches I’ve ever seen. Called Wharariki beach (pronounced Farariki) and the wind was blowing like mad, the entirety of the land leading up to the beach is drenched in sand dunes that are whipped and swirled into these crazy marbled patterns of white and grey and black sand. There were tons of sea caves with seals in them. Seals are assholes, apparently. I got growled at and charged twice… and then decided to stop going into sea caves that I couldn’t see into.

In other news, I think I’m sailing to Fiji next week. I’m hoping I don’t get seasick… haven’t before but every time I set foot in a vehicle in this country I feel like I might die. The roads are quite windy and it seems all the kiwis drive on them as if they are completely straight. Ugh. I’ve invested in these bands you wear on your wrists that put pressure on a pressure point that’s supposed to help with nausea… they help a bit.

Anyhow, I’d love to hear from any and all of you. I spent Thanksgiving in a park, reading East of Eden. Sounds lonely but the fact that everyone here was oblivious to the fact that it was a holiday at all made it a lot easier. Fiji is my Christmas present to myself, so that’ll do! 🙂

Peace and love to all of you, and enjoy the pictures! The link is: pictures here

I’ve always wanted to read East of Eden. Reading it in a foreign country would be even better. Love always,
