A day off.

Today was my day off. I went to coffee early with the guys and got to see Lloyd, Keith, Joe, and practically all 15 of the occasional coffee friends I see. On top of this our family friend with cancer, Cathy, came and showed pictures of her trip to Tennessee this weekend. Her granddaughter went with them. This is the first time she has seen her granddaughter in about 10 years.

Then I had to get home because the guy was coming to finish the last screen door install. Soon after I got home he called and said he had to go out of town. He’ll do the door later this week or early next.

When I got home Kathy and I watched Iron Man 2. Surprise spoiler. He doesn’t die like the whole movie expects him to! What a shock! Actually, the movie moved a little slow, but it was worth a $1 rental.

Much better is the cherry pie Kathy made for me while I was at work yesterday.

I took a long nap today for some reason. I slept a full long night last night, but just needed a nap, I guess. I woke up dreaming there was a spider on my face that I couldn’t get off. I know what that was from. I was driving at work yesterday and a very cold old spider that had been hiding in the roof of the postal truck woke up and fell on my helmet and over the lip right in my face. At night as we sleep our minds process and store away the incidents of the day for future reference. My brain could have just as well lost that memory as far as I am concerned.

Right now, I am exploring whether VLC video viewer on my desktop can translate a movie (Oceans) from DVD so that I can install and watch it on my iPod touch. This iPod deal is so bizarre. I am sure it has to do with the licensing laws, but it is just ridiculous that a video viewer won’t play movies you own unless you bought them through iTunes to install on that video player. Crazy. I am 100% behind people’s intellectual property rights, but I paid for all the Beatles stuff on LP. I paid for the New International Version of the Bible royalties at least three times already. I simply refuse to pay for things over and again anymore.

I had a plan today to vacuum leaves, put away the Samson trunk costume, and do some more tidying in the basement and garage. Ah well, a day off was so nice.

I hate spider dreams! Thank goodness I don’t have many, but that one would have creeped me out for the rest of the week!
