Beautiful Fall Day

It was a little chilly, but overall sunny and nice day for delivering mail.

I like to do my home fix-up projects on Friday and Saturday nights when Kathy is at work. I seem to have exhausted my list. I could have taken another lick at further straightening the garage or done more leaf vacuuming, but it really doesn’t need doing. So, I sat around tonight. At least I am writing here. I should be doing other writing.

Sunday is our local letter carrier’s union’s Muscular Dystrophy Association fund raising bowlathon. I am participating, though I am not really a bowler. It will be fun to get together socially with the other carriers and their families and friends who attend. It’s for a good cause.

I am looking forward to the week of Thanksgiving off. All my in-laws may be in Charleston at one time! That will be so cool. I am so looking forward to it.

The letter carriers are planning to walk in the Christmas Parade on Thanksgiving weekend, Saturday night. That will be fun. The local branch of our union has always organized it, but two years ago we missed planning it and didn’t do it at all. So last year a group got together independently and planned to walk. They are planning it again this year and I hope to attend. One of the women letter carriers said today that she made a little wagon into a postal truck to haul through the streets. We pass out candy and pick up letters to Santa that members of our auxiliary answer for Santa. Do they do that in your town? All I remember about Christmas in Bad Axe was the big push to shop and spend. We had big drawings every Friday night in the Fall to draw people into town to over-shop for the holiday.

Anyway, one holiday at a time. I wonder what I’ll do next Thursday when we have off for Veteran’s Day?

OMG so jealous reading about a husband who actually does fix-up on his own home? I think I just had an orgasm.
