Oh where or where is our Red Adair?
Human mating behavior is at once the most loving, generous, hopeful, satisfying, connecting, and the most selfish, cynical, distancing, and fleeting of experiences. It all depends on the hearts of those so engaged.
When do you suppose some nut-job televangelist will say that Louisiana made a deal with the devil in 1974 and has been cursed ever since? Move over Haiti, you are no longer the apple of Satan’s eye. Poor Louisanna. At least they have a governor who is on the ball.
Ever have a 5 butter sandwich? Butternut Butter crust bread, fresh dairy butter, peanut butter and apple butter. Don’t put honey butter on it. There is such a thing as overdoing.
Tomorrow I have people to fix food for! I have eaten practically nothing but soup, salad, and sandwiches for weeks. I like having someone to cook for.
Yesterday I lay out in the sun to get a tan so that I am ready for the beach when I get there in July.
Have you ever known someone who seems like such a wonderful, close, loving friend, but she has one thing that she wants from you and when you inevitably can’t deliver exactly what she wants she just cuts you completely off? Doesn’t talk to you, care about you, work with you? You know it’s not you, because you’ve seen her do it with other people too. It is sad. I know some atheist who think God is like that person. That He is presented as all sweetness and light, but He is really waiting to pounce on everyone so He can send them to Hell for not making Him the center of the universe. God is not like that. Oh, there are those who believe in a God like that, but I don’t and I don’t want to have anything to do with supporting that notion of God. God is interested in honesty, love, and realimacy, but he is not hoping to "get" those who don’t believe in Him. Rather, God is not willing that a single person should die in hateful, dishonest, loneliness. Not one. I feel sorry for those who don’t see this.
Tomorrow we go to the graveside of three of my wife’s grandparents. They and their children are the best of the best. I get to see them AND my first grandbaby will be unmistakably present.
It is not completely well, but my knee is 80% better this morning than it was last Sunday. I believe I have finally figured it out. It needs to stretch 10 or more times a day. That is putting the ligaments and bones back in place so they heal. I can’t just sit, stand, or lay around too long or it tightens up.
There is a lovely cool breeze through the house. Life is so good.
Sounds like you have a great weekend lined up. When is your grandbaby due? I cant remember. That will be such an exciting time! I’m hoping to at least have an announcement this year.

I understand about the knee. If I sit for too long, I can barely walk when I stand up. Laying down doesn’t seem to aggravate mine, though. I do think I’d probably do better if I stretched my knee once an hour. Maybe I’ll try that.

I didn’t know about your knee, glad you’ve figured out how to make it feel better..hope it heals quickly.. Not sure who the first part of your entry was about, what have I missed? Treasa

Hope you have a great rest of the weekend and that the knee heals up fast.

I didn’t know about your knee either. Yep, some want to blame God for everything which makes Satan happy because he can do his thing and God gets blamed. Enjoy seeing your grandbaby.

FYI, My grandbaby will be unmistakably present still in my daughter’s womb. The baby is due in early October.

I too was wondering where the present day equivalent of Adair is…. I guess Red didn’t go underwater.

ryn You know you’ll wake up in Heaven if you know your Savior. We need a Red Adair. It amazes me how they really think that stopping that leak is going to be easy. It is someplace no man has actually gone.

To say that you “let Obama in by voting for Ron Paul” is like saying that you let Roosevelt in by voting for Harold Stassen. Stassen was a better candidate than Thomas Dewey, who lost to Roosevelt. The Machine let Roosevelt in.
