Rain, snow and more rain fell along the Wasatch Front on Monday morning, setting a spring snow record at the airport.

The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City changed its assessment of snow accumulation at the Salt Lake International Airport from a trace to 0.2 inches just after 9 a.m. That makes Monday the latest day in Utah recorded history when a measurable amount of snow fell at the airport. A measurable amount is anything over 0.1, said meteorologist Monica Traphagan.

The previous record was on May 18, 1977, when half an inch fell, she said.

The storm that came in Sunday evening dropped almost a half an inch of rain at the Salt Lake City International Airport overnight, with more rain expected throughout the day, according to the National Weather Service.

Rain and snow showers were expected to continue throughout the morning before changing to rain showers and isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon. Monday’s high in Salt Lake City is expected to be around 55.

Snow also fell in Park City and Parley’s Canyon on Monday morning, with more rain and snow expected in the afternoon.

By Monday night things are expected to clear, with only a 20 percent chance of rain in the valleys. Partly cloudy skies are expected after midnight with lows around 40.

HA HA HA! cool. And Jim got a couple of inches at his house. I only got a little bit (I posted pictures). Still… I WANT TO BE WARM, DARN IT!

ryn: Yes, it’s the original deck. I’ve talked about it on and off because T has aggravated the snot out of me from time to time with his half-donkeyed maintenance. But no, we didn’t build it. The joists don’t go into the house, they are attached to a ledger board that will be coming off tomorrow. The ledger board should be attached to the main wood of the house, so we have to be careful taking itoff, so we just sawed through the joists to get the deck down.

I sure could’ve used some snow today… 97 degrees is just waaaay too hot!

We had a few flakes last week — and that was just the snow, heh heh. — It has been a horrible spring here and we have only had 3-4 days of weather when we could even go outside. I think, though, that it might get hot for summer — just a guess, but who knows? Not the global warming bunch!
