Tonight…..
Nina’s out with her friends for a well needed lady’s night out. She left at 6:30pm and it was just father and son.
We hung around the living room and played fort and enjoyed his blocks and just had a great time. In between Joe’d be watching Thomas the Tank Engine and half an episode of Blues Clues. Then we laid back and played "where’s Joe-Joe?" , I basically put a big blanket over him and start looking aroun and then he taps my leg and I look down, look surprised and he explodes into a fit of giggles. It is a riot.
Joe went to bed a few minutes after 8pm and took 9 ounces of the bottle. Not bad, and he’s been good at night, more and more we’re seeing he’s sleeping through the night, only waking if he wet through the night time diapers.
It is getting cold here. Almost the time for me to get the fireplace loaded and ready for use. I do need to collect kindling and get the pile of bark off the ground so it can dry out. I never let one thing go to waste with that stuff. Beyond this I do need to tarp up and secure the wood pile. I hope I have enough tarps.
Last night I made a balance transfer to one of my credit cards considering the 0% APR to october 2011. This means only 3 checks to write out a month: mortgage, car insurance and this one card. Incidentally if anyone’s curious it’s AAA. Takes a big load off my shoulders knowing I will not only be able to make the payments but clear out my debt by this time next year, if not better.
Otherwise tomorrow we will be off to the north fork again to pick apples and have a general good time. I do need to get the front lights fixed too, I think the wiring is loose so I will need to get in there and dismantle the housing from the house and tinker with it.
Tonight for dinner we had pizza and Nina was thoughtful and brought out an Ithaca Apricot Stout. Yum. As usual when a beer bottle is on the table my son stares it down and offers me the curious smile that says "daddy, taste please?" and because I’m ok with this I dip my finger lightly into the bottle and rub it across his lips. Funny part is when he licks his lips he just smiles and says "Ahhh". I try to do this every now and again if I’m drinking and he’s around. It sort’ve gets the curiosity out of him and then he goes about his business.
Otherwise I am just here.
apple orchards in fall are the bomb!
