Happy Birthday Son….

Today is my son’s first birthday. He slept through the night with only one wake up mid a.m. and then at 6:30 he woke in a bit if a worry and I scooped him up from his crib and took him to our bed as he was still sleepy so I figured that he might sleep a bit more. Although he tried to get comfortable he couldn’t really get back to sleep and at one point just sat up, tapped me on the nose with his tiny finger and let out a small squeal.

He was a big eater this morning, a portion of scrambled eggs and a Yo Soy yogurt and we were all set. I had my eggs with goat cheese, he isn’t too keen on the idea and had a sour expression when I put a small crumble of the goat cheese past his lips.

Beyond this the rain has been gently falling since before dawn and this makes for such a great day to nap.

He conked out at 9am and we retreated back to his dark room for another nap. An hour and a half and counting….

My mother will have a small cake for him since the party is set for next saturday, we had it set this way since David & Liz’s baby was supposed to be born today, he wasn’t having it and arrived last week.

Otherwise I have a small cold, I am ignoring it for now and hope it’s feelings get hurt and goes away.
