When it pours……

Today went by without much happenstance.

Well, until about 4:45pm.

I’m driving home and I notice this vibrating thump from my front right side.

I know what it is.

Flat tire.

So I pull over in the rain and confirm my thoughts.

Unpack the trunk of it’s contents and change the tire.

I’m situated on a slanted part of the shoulder with the water coming down and at me. I’m grumbling, tired and hungry.

I start thinking to myself all the bad thoughts, stirring all the components of the shit storm that’s been on me for the last year.

So as you can imagine I’m feeling horrible, angry, depressed and such.

I don’t think I would’ve gotten so upset had it not been raining, I mean I’ve changed tires a hundred times so it wasn’t any big issue there.

Until I try to remove the tire off and it isn’t coming off.

So there I am stranded roadside trying to make this happen.

Finally with some kicking and twisting I get the fucker off and load up the full size spare.

I get inside and turn the key and my car just resounds with:

" click click click click click"

Dead battery.

Luckily I have a battery jumper.

Pop the hood, clip the battery and turn on the car.

I drive home in silence, my stomach protesting like a raging troll and I’m still pissed, except I’m conscious that I shouldn’t be.

Conscious that I shouldn’t take this out on anyone.

So I call Nina and explain my mood and we chatted a minute before I got back to driving.

Appointment on Monday at the gym with a doctor to review my health, thursday appointment withAllstate for life insurance quotation.

That’s all for now, time to go back and watch the rain come down.

if it’s any comfort at least it all happened on one day; not several in a row.
