Christmas Review
I still haven’t forgotten about the two entries I promised to write, don’t worry, they’re coming.
So on Christmas Eve Nina had worked part of the day and met up with myself, my brother Dominik & my parents at church. As usual we ran a few minutes late and when we entered the church the house was packed but luckily my parents had saved us seats in the pew. But they had begun singing and I had always felt odd about going down the center aisle. We sat the end of the front row for a a few minutes before my parents waved us on and before long we were comfortable and I had little Joe on my knee sitting on the aisle seat. He had the cordoroy pants my mother had sewn for him and when she saw it her eyes lit up like a christmas tree.
Before long Father Jerry was discussing some of the readings and one particular discussion revolved around what the manger scene and he asked the little kids what baby Jesus looked like and it wasn’t before long that he walked down the aisle and picked up H2 and raised him up for everyone to see.
Unfortunately Father Jerry is loud and has a mean looking beard and H2’s expression crumbled to a frown then crying. Back to momma’s arms and he buried his face while she reassured him.
Later after church we stopped at our house to regroup and get ready for the party. When we got there it looked as if EVERYONE was there. As can be imagined in a large Sicilian family there was copious amounts of food and all the boisterous laughter that goes with it.
Even better? There tons of small children there, so H2 had playmates. My cousin’s grandson; James, became H2’s best friend and they played almost exclusively with each other. This was really the first time he had this kind of interaction but I thought it was amazing to watch him respond to another child. He was very very happy.
We spoke a bunch with my cousin Maria, who’s husband Rob did not show which raised an eye and she made it pretty clear that she’s been having problems with him. Now my cousin is pretty faithful in her belief of psychic mediums and so are many people in my family, mostly the aunts, myself and my brother. So anyhow she mentions that all the things she had learned in a reading 15 years ago were beginning to fall into place.
This was not the good kind either.
The next day which was Christmas day we had H2 in his union suit and below is the photo goodness.
He really loves his wooden train his Nonna gave him.
Now for a little video
He’s adorable!
