What I do in the monkey house

In the psych ward I function as a mental health counselor. Prior to this I was a psychiatric technician, which in layman’s terms means orderly. I do evaluations in the E.R. write up what I see in terms of mentally ill patients who come in, suicidal folks and generally keep the peace. The unit is a 20 bed acute facility with counselors, nurses, a recreation therapist (who isn’t worth a wooden dime) and social workers (who are lazy anyway and have no contact with their patients). So basically the nurses and us mhc’s are on our own in dealing with their bizarre behavior. But on the positive side I’ve met Jesus numerous times.
