My Car…plans

Now that I’ve got my promotion I have been able to really plan the future steps in modifiying my car, which had stopped sometime last summer after working on paying other bills…reality strikes again.

Well for starters, I drive a VW Jetta, 97, with a 2.0 lump, which some call the 2 pt slow.

Many comment to rip out the ” mini-mill ” and sink a hearty VR6 or a nifty 1.8 20 valve turbo in there. Nope..I am going to beef up the 8 valve.

Dr. Shrick Camshaft, the 272 degree one, sooo nice.

Unorthodox pulleys, made only 2 towns away

An Autotech cam gear, adjustable to 7 degrees I believe

Port and Polish the cylinder head

Autotech Big Bore Pistons, 83.5 mm jammies, which will rock.

I want to replace the connecting rods with an RPI Titanium set but that’s a whole grand, if not more, even the polyalloys are expensive.

THere’s more, a supercharged intercooler unit after these things. I figure that I go into the heart of the beast 1 time only. Anyway I’ll mention more later if anything comes to mind..
