You say you’ll love me forever..but what about today?

Your vigor, your heart, wholeheartedly smashing doubt

like some benign truncheon of justice

the beat of your heart crafts the song which weaves

about my soul like flesh, and in it I sink

Like a pool of liquid silk which cannot be escaped

Yet why escape?

When all we wish to escape is outside our own skin

The hate, the misery, the grim horizon which creeps

unabated, the seconds of our lives ripped away

to some deep pit which is too ugly to bear a name

What can I say? That’s a keeper. By the way, thank you for not being one of the three types.

Good question, What about today? (Because tomorrow doesn’t exist yet for me!) Good poem, too!
