one of these things just doesn’t belong
So my husband, due to his little incident of I guess telling someone they sucked at work, has group therapy every day for about 3 months (may go to 6, but I doubt he will need to for that long)… with a room full of spousal abusers.
yeah, he’s grouped in with people who admit to beating up their partners (I say that because there are some same sex couples, well half of the couple, in the group)… it’s sorta weird.
My husband can be beyond annoying and frustrating, but he’s hardly physically abusive. I don’t know. I don’t think he belongs there. I think an anger management or violence in the workplace seminar and a counseling session (which he went to see a psych and was told he needs no meds or further appts with him) would have sufficed. Instead they just went to the far end of crazy as if he had threatened to beat the guy up.
maybe he did, but he swears up and down all he did was yell at him and basically call him a loser.
Which is BAD, don’t get me wrong. YOU DON’T DO THAT SHIT. He says it was stress, which he was under a lot of, but STILL. slow your roll and behave. However, the extent to which they have taken it reeks of "corporate ass covering".
Whatever. He still has a job so I can’t complain too much. He says he is keeping his options open, which is good. I have a feeling they are gonna get mad at him because he has to work from home. but as long as he gets his assignments done they shouldn’t have anything to say. And the jerk head who lodged the complaint should feel oh so happy he doesn’t have to see my scary husband anymore.
Whatever. I’m biased, obviously. I don’t know the whole story, which is also obvious. But jeesh, it’s just weird.
This also means he has to work from home (because going in to work for an hour or so and leaving and not going back is plain stupid), so I’m not too mad. I like having him home so I can bug him all day… but yeah. It sorta sucks.
Meanwhile, I got the game Guild Wars and I love it.
That is all.
I gotta go put on my Mommy Teacher hat.

I’ll be honest, if he did that up here at most corporate places, he would have been fired. In my old place of employment, Canada Life, any sort of temper outburst like that is grounds for dismissal. And depending on the person, I can see why they’d feel threatened. If I didn’t know my coworker that well and they were yelling at me and calling me a loser, that would scare me. It would also intimidate me and wonder when it would happen again. I would not want to come in to work again after an experience like that. I’m only saying that because I was bullied at work, in a very similar style. This guy very well could have deserved the blow up, the problem is that when it comes from a peer, it’s just not OK. I’m on your side here, I can just empathize with the loser that isn’t doing his job. He might be a loser, but that kind of stuff should definitely come from his boss, not Baboo. I do think the group therapy is going to far. I do think that they are wasting his time. Baboo knows what he did was wrong. Perhaps they should try and get to the bottom of Baboo’s stress, and figure out that their other employees aren’t up to par.

ryn: I think the saddest thing is that your husband did what we all want to do but don’t do. It’s a shame when we can’t act on how we not only feel, but what we know is right. I don’t get the group therapy either. It makes no sense to me.

THere is a lady here at work that is such a rude bitch that I just want to punch her in the neck every day… but no one says anything to her, even tho everyone hates her. someday, someone is going to blow up at her & they will get in trouble, even tho she has a history of being a huge cunt. Im imagining that is the situation with your hubby.

People at my job swear, call each other names and are usually on the verge of cutting each others throats and then they go get a drink at the bar…. We’re dysfunctional or at least I thought, until your husband was forced to go see a therapist.
