If you’re wondering, even with the absence of Facebook from my workspace, I still can’t make myself do work for longer than 20 minutes at a time. oops!

So… my ring JUST LEFT OKLAHOMA this morning.

i’m pissed. Me wanty now! (yeah yeah, so I didn’t pay for fast shipping… it’s my fault, but I’m gonna pout and make a fuss anyway!)

It got into Oklahoma on fricken Friday! They could have sent it out on Saturday! Lazy butts!

bah!

Oh well, at least it’s moving. It’ll probably stop somewhere stupid like Arizona for a day and then somewhere else stupid for another. It’s supposed to come on Thursday…. It feels like eternityyyyy…

So I got a new webcam. When I’m cute I’ll do a video entry.

God only knows when I’ll be cute again.

So, Jonathon.

He was mad that he wasn’t able to stay home with Jacob (who was sick)… so he went to school and made sure he got sent home by flipping over a desk and being a tyrant.

I later learned that he initially tried to get sent home by complaining about his "ear hurting"… *sigh*

Anyway, I had a conference on friday… that turned into me being surrounded by his teacher, an acting school admin, a counselor, and some sort of … I dont’ know what to call him guy, who basically acts as a counselor or something as well, but is really proactive with the kids.

It felt really embarrassing to sit in the middle of all of them staring at me as they told me all the stories about my son…

Yes, my son gets a reputation RIGHT AWAY. He’s been in several incidents with other kids and really doesn’t tolerate "unfair" situations well. He is also EXTREMELY hard on himself and loses his mind when he makes a mistake when he’s doing ANYTHING, from painting a picture to writing his name. He has broken numerous pencils and paintbrushes because he gets frustrated with himself.

*siiiiigh*

I lucked out because his teacher also has a problem son! She said he was almost exactly like Jonathon and she wants to make sure that Jonathon succeeds. She seemed really understanding to my whole sitaution.

Surprisingly enough, it was actually pretty positive after the initial "your son is insane" stories… everyone was really encouraging and wanting to find solutions and things that they could do to help make my sons school experience better. The counselor guy was like "I want to make sure he graduates highschool, not just makes it out of our school"…

Ao yeah.

His teacher really wants him to get tested for the gifted program. Chances are, if he IS gifted, they will want to transfer him to a gifted magnet school or possibly get him into a higher level of things at the school he is in.

So we’ll see.

I am now going to have daily reports for Jonathon’s behavior at school as well as bi weekly meetings with his teacher. He is going to be allowed to carry a journal around to write in when he gets frustrated or angry and everyone is going to communicate a lot better.

So we’ll see right?!

ugh…

It’s just my luck I have such a challenging child. but if we get him under control he can really be amazing.

I just don’t know how to do it.

reminds me I need to call  and get him into the problem buster workshops or something with kaiser.

wheeee!

I had something else I was gonna say, but I forgot.

I am SO GLAD that the school staff was so positive and encouraging. That is AWESOME. I have high hopes for Jonathon.

It’s so encouraging to see that there are some school administrators who aren’t interested in just shipping kids off like cattle and collecting a paycheck.

Just a curious observation here, (and it’s not likely the SOLE reason for it), but, do you maybe think, that, the reason why he’s acting out a majority of the time, is because he’s growing bored with the easy subjects at school, and he doesn’t feel challenged enough by them? Just a thought to throw out there, as I was reading about it. Perhaps, he’s frustrated with being bored with it, and is not

*hug* It’s so good to hear that they’re going to be so helpful. That’s likely going to be just what he needs.

sure how to communicate that. Again, I could be wrong, but, it’s a curiosity, all the same. Anyway, in either case, hope this gets resolved for him fairly quickly! And, also hope that your ring arrives to you soon!

I hadn’t thought of that, but maybe he’s so smart he’s bored to death and he has all this extra energy and nothing to do with it. I’m glad his teacher understands.. that’s awesome!

Aw I’m glad they’re all working with you!

It’s great that the school faculty members are being supportive and trying to help you. I hope you guys figure things out and get his outbursts under control. I’m sure things will work out just fine! 🙂

What…kaiser? food. Gimmie.

Sounds like a negative turned into a positive. Jonathon reminds me of my daughter, Chante’.
