Monday Morning Target Practice

Hello Monday, you scoundrel!

Alas, I am here and I am writing, with much to catch up on. I was just so lazy this weekend, I didn’t want to write! I suppose I shall do some target practice with the following bullets…

Friday:

*After I picked up Baboo we went home and got my brother some food. We were debating on whether we were going to go out because Baboo didn’t get his bonus and wouldn’t be able to treat us to dinner on one of the nights like we had planned.

*We decided to go out on Friday and maybe just go to the party on Saturday after cleaning up at his place.

*We went home and got all ready and went to Ruths Chris steakhouse.

*We didn’t make reservations, but when we arrivd we were quoted a 20 to 30 minute wait. They had a bar there, so we decided to get a drink.

*I had a mojito with WAY TOO MUCH MINT, but it was pretty good. It was a citrusy one.

*After about half an hour, Baboo went to ask them what was going on. A table of people had been seated that got there after us, so it was weird.

*He came back and said that they said it would be at least another 15 minutes because they had quoted us 45 minutes (which wasn’t true adn I didn’t appreciate my boyfriend getting an attitude because he was inquiring about how long it would take). They were rude and bitchy, and at this point I was getting annoyed as all get out.

*Well it took them ANOTHER 30 minutes to get us seated, making our wait time an HOUR. I was not impressed. We could have eaten somewhere else less expensive and just as fulfilling with quicker service. I was pissed.

*This place is fancy and has steaks that are no less than $33… so it’s not like Outback or anything. It’s very snooty and high quality. So I expected to be treated like high class. It pissed me off. Baboo was even more mad, and after they seated us in this weird place (it was like a long bench seat with individual tables placed in front of it and then chairs on the other side of those. We were so close to the couple next to us, we might as well have been eating together. Once again, NOT impressed!!!!) he just wanted to leave. We were eating some bread (which was good, but I’ve had better!!!) and he was like "lets just go, it’s too expensive for how they are treating us." I agreed.

*The waiter must have smelled our disdain because he came up and Baboo told him that we had been waiting an hour and we were just going to leave. I was a little uncomfortable, because I’ve never done that, but I was willing to just go and save some money. The waiter did his job and offered us a free appetizer. So we took it and decided to stay.

*We got these grilled shrimp and it was pretty good. We then ordered Petite Filet’s and a side of mashed potatoes. (EIGHT DOLLARS WORTH OF MASHED DAMN POTATOES… wth!)

*The steaks came on sizzling 500 degree plates. I must admit, they were REALLY above average steaks. Like wow. It was super tender and really good. the ONLY redeeming thing about that place. We couldn’t even afford to have more than water with dinner. I thought we’d spend a lot, but this was super fancy. We would have needed double the money I had to really enjoy a full meal there.

*We left and decided we would probably not go back there. The service was just not up to the "class and price" it was putting forth. I’m sure we could get better service elsewhere. I probably would have been happy if they had come up to us after 30 minutes and apologized that it was taking so long and OFFERED US THE FREE FOOD BEFORE WE ASKED FOR IT. Instead, they got an attitude. I don’t care if we didn’t have reservations and weren’t sporting diamonds all over our bodies. You treat us like we are the only customer in a place like that, you don’t know who we are! And we’re paying your dumb asses!

*So yeah, Friday was strange. We left there and went home and honestly I don’t remember what we did. Probably watched some tv and drank some beers and passed the fuck out.

lol

I will have to continue my target practice later. Work calls!

I have never been there, but I’d have been unimpressed, and I probably would have still left. I hate bad service and have been know to pay for my drink and just leave.

I’d be pissed. No excuse for bad service at any restaurant, it doesn’t matter the price of the food! I demand good service everywhere! !!!!! Demand it, I tell you!!!

I’ve been there and had really good service. I got the chicken because it was the least expensive thing on the menu.

I hate going to places like that and getting treated like that. I would have been super pissed too. I’ve been to that place once. It was for prom, so it was like 13 or 14 years ago. I’ve never been back. So needless to say.. it’s not just that location. And I wasn’t impressed with the food either.

They have a couple of Ruth Chris’s in Houston and about a year ago there was a Hepatitis scare coming from there. I wouldnt have waited for that long. Could you not eat at the bar?

wow what a pain of a restaurant!!

I’m a chef and have never eaten there. I don’t eat out much, actually. They are not known for their service, but the steaks are killer apparently. Meh. I can always do better. Lol.

ryn: i read the first book and it’s my understanding that after the first season, which followed the book more or less, they were going to go an entirely different direction than the rest of the books. for instance, in the books, there is no tara. so…have any more dreams about me????? lol!

Mmmmmm. Ruths Chris!!!!! MMMMMMMMmmmmmmmm!!!!!! i’d only go there if work was paying or if i was really trying to impress a girl….but did i mention…Mmmmmmm!!!!!!

You made that steak sound devine but my ass would have kept on walking once my mind was made up to leave. That was beyond crappy service.

I LOVE Ruth’s Chris. Everytime we go to Atlantic City Sheri and I make reservations there. There’s a waiter that we had our first time who was so amazing we request him every time. I love their steak, I have never had anything so mouth watering or succulent in all my life. And the smell-omg It is really expensive and we can only afford to splurge a few times a year but totally worth it

Yeah, I think I would have turned down the free food and left.
