Puppy Chat

Well… no pictures today.

I KNOW RIGHT.

I forgot my phone at home (it’s becoming a really annoying habit!!!) and that’s where all my pics are.

but I do have his name!

So… I want to start from the beginning.

First off, I spent way too much money… on Jakes birthday and on the new dog. But, it was ALL WORTH IT. I will probably fuss and whine ALL THIS MONTH because of it, but oh well. I should be able to recover in July mostly because of the extra paycheck. Even though I will also be taking a pay cut, the extra check and my step mother watching my boys should help me TONS.

Ok..

So from the top!

So Friday I picked Jake up and I told him that I had to give some of his birthday stuff away to a child in need.

He was so upset. It was sorta funny, but my son is definitely spoiled. I guess I can’t expect him to be a selfless soul at the age of 6, but I thought at least he’d feel better thinking it went to a poor little boy who wasn’t going to have a birthday at all! ha ha, oh well!

So we went to Mcdonalds and got dinner and he was thoroughly surprised and happy when we got home and everything was all decorated and he had presents on the table! He got a star wars ship and a bunch of clone trooper action figures. He loves the clone troopers for some reason. They sorta annoy me cuz you can never see their faces.

Whatever.

So he really liked that and we had delicious ice cream cake and the night was pretty nice. My poor jonathon is secretly really jealous and he had a bit of an attitude this weekend. he thinks he wont’ be getting a cool birthday this year and is sorta acting out. I think that’ll make the zoo trip all the more sweeter! ha ha! I have to just make sure we can do it, Even if we don’t go to the beach, I think he’ll be more excited about the zoo. He is really into animals and so I know he’ll have a great time.

The next morning we got up and picked up Baboo and went to see Terminator. I liked the movie a lot, but Baboo was not so impressed. My boys liked it too so I’d say it was a success. I am ashamed of how much money I spent on popcorn though.

We then made a detour to the animal shelter. I really wanted to just look and see what they had. This shelter had a lot of big dogs and Baboo fell in love with this big brown and black dog named Max. It had been surrendered by it’s owner. He was a happy good looking dog but way bigger than what I think we could handle. He’d probably want to eat the cats too.

Anyway, I wanted to look at the shelter near my house next and I figured we’d still find nothing and we’d go home and it would be over with.

We stopped at Target and Lowes and got Baboo a Bonsai Tree. I don’t know WHY he wanted one so badly, but he got one. We couldn’t find the right kind of pruning tools for it though. There was a 20 dollar kit with one that looked like it could work, but that was more expensive than the little tree! Plus I don’t need a big tool and a little tool and yeah, so we didn’t get the right kind, guess we’ll have to keep looking.

Anyway, after that we went to the other shelter which was a lot bigger and had a lot more animals.

We looked into the first run of kennels and there were just a lot of pit bulls and big dogs. There was one more set of male dogs (I like males a little more than females) and in the first cage to the right my eye caught this cute little thing that ran right up the front of the cage and wagged his tail. I instantly fell in love with him. He just looked so cute! He had floppy ears and a cute little face. His card said he was a chihuahua, but he was pretty big and long so I think he’s mixed with something. We looked at the rest of the kennel, it had more smaller dogs, but none of them really caught my eye like the first one.

So after a few minutes… we pulled the card and we got to pet him and get to know him in this little room.

He was so quiet and shakey and just a really good boy. He took to Baboo instantly (as animals tend to do) and so we decided we’d adopt him!

It was just that easy.

He had to go get his microchip in and get fixed so we couldn’t get him till Sunday afternoon.

TALK ABOUT EXCITEMENT.

We went out to dinner after and then Baboo left because he wanted to go hang out with his friend.

Oh well.

I could barely sleep on Saturday. I watched this crazy zombie movie called Boy Eats Girl (It was Irish) and it was pretty decent. I liked it. I also watched this teenage angst drug sex movie called Thirteen. It was especially well made!

So yesterday morning they called and said he was ready and then Baboo called and suddenly he was inside of my house! ha ha, I didn’t even know he was coming that early!

So that was nice.

We went to  pick him up and he was even cuter than I remembered. I payed an extra 30 bucks to get the cone on his head so he won’t go for his stitches, as well as a pain shot for afterward. They also did the free check and he is free and clear and very healthy. the poor thing has to have the cone on for TWO WEEKS. That’s a long time, poor thing. But I don’t want him getting at his stitches or getting anything infected.

So anyway, we took him to Petsmart and I proceeded to lose my mind. I got him a cute matching collar and leash, a bunch of toys, a softy fluffy bed, a tentlike portable crate and an engraved nametag.

yeah… I spent a lot of money, we’ll leave it at that. I gotta stimulate the economy!

Anyway, he is SUCH A GOOD DOG. He didn’t bark or go crazy at any of the other dogs he met in the store. I noticed he was in a kennel at the shelter with 4 other dogs, so that means he was good with others to begin with, but he was just really well behaved. We really only have to correct him once or twice and it’s like he KNOWS.

We got him home and my landlord was there! eep! I didn’t want my landlord to see him right away. I doubt he’ll have a big issue with it since someone else on the property has a bigger dog, but I just want to ease everything in, ya know?

Anyway, lets talk about the name for a second. So Baboo was set on naming him something like Joey. I wasn’t quite as sold on the name  cuz I wanted to be around him for a bit first. We were bouncing all sorts of strange names back and forth and while we were in petsmart I bought a leash and collar and when I went to put it on him, my boys and Baboo had already picked his name…

Ceaser.

Hee hee. I think it’s cute and it sorta suites him! So that’s his name! Ceaser! Jonathon keeps calling him Ceaser Chavez, but I purposefully spelled it differently (Ceaser instead of Cesar)…

but yeah, I think this dog was sent to us from heaven. First of all, the people who turned him in were supposed to claim him on the day we got him (if noobdy else had) and they didn’t show up, so it was like we were supposed to get him since the other family hadn’t! I don’t know how long they keep dogs in the shelter, but I wasn’t gonna leave him!

He does NOT BARK. He barked 3 times when the shelter guy took him from the cage and he has not barked since!

He is super cuddly and lovey and follows us around and is really just a sweet wonderful little dog. I am in shock how cool and even tempered he is. He does not act like a yippy crazy chihuahua at all. I am so sure he was someones pet, and it makes me sad that they either lost him or he ran away.

He just doesn’t seem like the run away type to me though. I think someone dumped him and it’s sad. I’m glad we could adopt him.

I wish I could go home early!!!

I can’t wait until he gets more acquainted with our house so he won’t have to be in the crate all day. He’s just such a good dog. He’s got the sweetest eyes and his temperment couldn’t be more amazing. We really lucked out!!!

I got up at 5 to take him out for a walk this morning (I guess that’ll be my new routine) and he is just so good and cute!!! We got him this black gorilla toy and he really loves it! He can’t get at it like he wants to because of the cone, but I can tell it’s gonna be his favorite.

He just a great dog, I feel so lucky.

I know I spent too much money and perhaps that is going to come bite me in the ass, but now I feel like my little family is more complete and so I’m happy!!!

Anyway, enough gushing about the puppy, right?

Just some random TMI: I started my period yesterday and I feel like roadkill

and now, Monday can officially begin…

Oh I can’t wait to see pictures. I love well behaved dogs. It’s refreshing. I’m tryign to get a video of Sheri’s dogs Lucy and Oliver together. It’s the funniest thing because Lucy is probably like 40 lbs and Oliver can’t be more than 5 right now. Oliver torments her so bad! He’ll climb on her and smack her in the snout and she takes off running. I love watching animals play

Awww! I’s so happy you have a puppy 😀 I can’t wait for pictures. And Jacobs b-day was a success, so quit worrying about the money, it’s gone now so look ahead! (LMAO, I sound like a dork) And yeah….I haven’t started yet, but it’s a few days away and I already feel like ass.

Awwww, this is so fab! Caeser reminds me of the dude who does… that dog behavioral show… that I don’t remember the name of. Wow, I talk crap sometimes. I know what you mean about it being sad – I have no idea how anyone could have abandoned my dog, it’s horrible! But good, because now we get them! Haha! I hope you enjoy him very much – dogs are so much fun, they keep you active!

congrats.. 🙂

Hey.. gotta do what makes you happy. That’s life. Congrats on the new addition to your family.

I love Thirteen… Did you know that Nikki Reed (I can’t remember her name in the movie, but she was the troublemaker who got the good girl in trouble) wrote that herself and it’s based on her life? Crazy…

HAIL CAESAR GOGGIE! 😀 He sounds adorable! 🙂 Chris
