My Kidless Date with “Him” *with pics!*

 

 

 

 

I have never been one to smile on a Monday.

But I feel like smiling today.

The clouds are grey and dreary, it’s sprinkling rain. It’s gloom central outside.

And yet, I feel peaceful and content.

It’s a nice feeling.

Honestly, I don’t trust it one bit, but I will still enjoy it while it lasts.

So, of course I would like to write about my day with "him" on Saturday.

I think I’m still riding the high of having a day with just us, no kids. It was so nice to not have to worry about that.

Much needed, at least for me.

So the night before was sort of "meh".

I went to this Mother/Daughter appreciation dinner at my dad’s church. My step mom and my two sisters I grew up with were there. We had fun, but my little sister (the one with the boyfriend, she’s almost 19) was all twitterpated about her boy so I teased her a bunch. I also beat her with my flower (they gave me a carnation at the door. Those flowers are so pretty to me) and told her she was a butt for flaking on me. She said she won’t do it again, so we’ll see next time I ask her to watch them.

The food was good and my dad was playing in the band and wrote a song for the occassion. It was nice all around, but I was tired after.

I woke up around 7 on Saturday. We planned to meet up around 9:45 so I had plenty of time to shower and fix my hair and stuff. Around 8:15 he called and said he was bored and to come earlier. Ha ha, silly boy.

I didn’t mind it, I couldn’t wait to see him.

Now we were gonna go to the beach (Santa Monica) and see a movie and walk around and stuff. It sorta sucked not being able to drive there,b ut gas is just too insane and so is parking (stupid parking!)… but next time we do something, I’m just gonna have to save up some gas money, cuz taking the bus is a PAIN IN THE ASS.

It brings me to the first set of pictures. This is the second bus stop we waited at. We used my baby laptop a lot that day to try and figure out our routes and stuff. Yay Baby Laptop!

wait.

so yeah, we took two buses and got to the beach. It was a little overcast and windy, but not bad. We walked up the pier and sat and took pictures and stuff. On the way back we stopped at one of those little photo booths and took some pics, but he still has them. So once I get my hands on them, I’ll scan them in. We are nuts. Hee hee.

So here are the pics from when we were sitting on the pier. After this I totally forgot about my picture taking capabilities.

So I did take some pics of us, but I really only liked a few of them. I’ll post the rest later, but here are two of him and I:

So that’s about it for that. I had such a nice time there. I love the ocean!

 

So after this we went on a hunt for lunch. We ended up at Yankee Doodles and had bar b que pork sandwiches (they were mediocre, nothing to rant and rave about). Then we wanted to go see the movie Deception…but it stopped playing already! What the hell! It wasn’t playing at any theatres around there anyway. That sucked.

We ended up seeing Forbidden Kingdom… it was good if you cut out the cheesy "I want to be a Karate Kid Movie" parts. I liked it mostly, good fight scenes and it was pretty to look at. After that we set out to go down the Venice Beach walk thingie. I wish I had taken more pictures! *stomp* We saw a lot of craziness. The street performers and vendors are always interesting. There were krishna dancers spinning around. A pile of puppies. Some people break dancing, but then they got boring. The guy on roller skates with his guitar. Some fat guy sitting on a bench with a boom box in his lap WITH NO CLOTHES ON (cept for this tiny purple thong, and it made me gag). What else… oh i can’t remember it all! damn!

I got a chance to touch the water real quick. I can’t go to the ocean without touching it!

but we had been walking a lot and it was just tiring.

He has had a lot of experiences in those areas, so he was telling me all these stories.
i think that’s one of the things I really find alluring about him. He’s just lived SO MUCH in such a short time and has all this stuff to talk about. I was such a sheltered country bumpkin, that I have barely scratched the surface of all the things he has seen and done. All the places he has lived.

It’s just… attractive for some reason.

So then we ended up on a long bus trek of doom. it was long. And doomish. I was hungry (we ended up getting pizza and sneak eating on the bus which scared me to death since they want to charge you 250 bucks if you get caught!) The last bus we took was super late, or took too long, or SOMETHING, cuz we stood there for a good 30 to 45 minutes waiting. argh! argh I say!

So yeah, overall it was a successful day.

I just really REALLY enjoyed my time with him. He is my best friend and I feel content and peaceful around him.

I have more to write about, but I must go work. I just wanted to get most of this out while it was fresh in my mind and post the pics!
