Indentured Servitude

I forgot to switch this from private to public for some reason. Oops.

So I am taking two days off from work to work for my father to pay off some debt to him. He mainly just wanted some time with me and having an able body around is a bonus. It’s a win-win deal.

I started the day out at 5am as usual and e-mailed my monthly status report to my boss because I didn’t have time to get it to him before I left yesterday. He’s out for the next two weeks and needs to get the report done for his boss before his vacation.

I got to my father’s house around 8:30 and just sat and talked for half an hour or so until some additional help showed up. We moved some heavy/bulky stuff, a fridge, a dryer, oxygen tank, and scaffolding. The scaffording had to have wasps removed from it first. Actually before moving the last item, the scaffolding, we sat at his computer and cooled off for a while. They basically watched me tune it up a bit.

After we got the scaffolding set up, we broke for lunch. Then got up on it and started tearing off the metal roofing that covers this little nook protruding from the front of the house. I don’t know what the hell you call it, but it’s on the right in this photo of the house.

I spent the rest of the day tearing that off. Tomorrow I’ll be back up there re-roofing it, but not until the shade covers it. So I’ll probably be running around the house checking outlets and lights to see what circuit breakers go to what outlets and mapping it out on his floorplan. I’m wiped out already.
