Circles on the Brain

I think spending the last few weeks reading The Copernican Revolution: Planetary Astronomy in the Development of Western Thought seriously contributed to me mowing the lawn in a circular pattern on Sunday. I started around a little weeping willow I planted last year and spiraled outward. It didn’t look as dramatic as I had hoped, but it was much more enteraining than the usual row after boring row. I started thinking about how to incorporate or overlap/intersect circles or if I should just let the obstacles divide up the area I’m cutting into managable sections. It was fun. Maybe I’ll get the ladder out and take a picture next time if it looks good. I finished the book on Tuesday. I started reading an old hardcover copy of The Way of All Flesh by Samuel Butler yesterday. I can’t find a print date on it but the pages are yellow and the binding is old and fragile. I hate carrying around a fragile book, but I’ll just be extra careful with it.

Well, you certainly are creative! I wish books inspired ME to do strange and wonderful things. But I usually just fall asleep in the middle of a sentence.
