The last of the trip.

I’ve finally found a few minutes to write. The trip home was fine – no delays, no cancellations. We got to go to Univeral Studios Islands of Adventure on Wednesday night. The park was closed to all but those attending the conference. A fleet of charter buses brought us there to kick back for a few hours on the last night. I ended up getting ahead of the crowd because the crowd stopped for the first couple of rides, the people dressed up as comic book characters, and the live dj. But I wasn’t the only one ahead of the crowd. I ended up walking alongside a guy from Belgium. His name was Tio (I have no idea how it’s spelled, but that’s how it sounded.) This was his 7th time attending this annual conference and at least second time at the park. He was raving about the roller coasters, so I stuck with him and tried out every ride on the way to the “Dueling Dragons” coaster. That’s the last ride I went on that night, but not because it was bad. It was the best coaster I’ve been on thus far. It’s a pair of tracks with cars suspended from above. There are a couple of points where you see the train on the other track pass really close, but for the most part it was too dark to see much ahead. One woman I talked to on the ride back to the hotel had to ride it twice because she didn’t notice the other train at all the first time and was confused when someone mentioned see it. One “dragon” is fast, the other “dragon” is really twisty. I rode the fast one and loved it. There were practically no queue lines (maybe 5 min.) So I decided to try the twisty one, but that upset my stomach for the rest of the night. That’s why I didn’t get on any more rides. I really wanted to try the Hulk coaster too. Oh well. Maybe next year when I (oh boy!) get to go with my boss. That was pretty much the highlight of the trip. I think I’ve proved to myself that I can handle the big steel coasters now, so next time I’m going to try one in daylight to see where there hell I’m going.

That’s it, I’m quiting my teaching job and becoming a computer (ummmmm…programmer?) person. 🙂 How long have I known you now, and I have no idea what your official title is… This is Jen by the way…I’m working on getting something in my OD. I wish I had just let my old journal turn into a free account…someone stole my old name. 🙁

ryn: You know what’s worse, the fact that she hasn’t written since November. PLUS, she’s in high school so it’s weird to see what I consider my name signing the stuff that she’s writing… Go scare her off my name please?
