It’s about time I wrote something here. I haven’t had much to say other than the usual: people suck, work is a way to fill the day, school is sleep-inducing, and orange juice with lots of pulp and fresh bread is the perfect snack.
I completed my first pre-calc exam today. I finished 45 minutes before the end of class. I didn’t study because, although I felt some self-confidence (lack of) based anxiety before the exam, I decided to agree with the theory that cramming before an exam is worse than not studying at all. Whether it was the two years of Algebra II/Trigonometry I had in high school or that I’m just more math/logic-oriented (if you believe my SAT scores or base it on my full-time occupation: programming), the exam seemed to go pretty well. I don’t think he threw in any trick questions other than the one I caught (all it took was paying attention to the lectures – he warned about the exact scenario at least three times.) I scanned the test before starting, determined which questions were the easiest to begin with and worked my way up from there instead of just going in sequential order. I noticed from his discussion about an example exam he passed out that he expects us to follow it sequentially because he remarked that he put the hard questions first to throw off the summer class that had taken that exam. I’ll have the results on Thursday. I’m glad the exam was postponed until today (due to weather and power outages – two unrelated events on consecutive classes) because otherwise I would have had to wait all weekend to find out the results. I’m patient but anxious.
I haven’t even been using this style for long and I’m already bored with it. :
i get bored easily… does that make me boring? hmmm… and orange juice without pulp isn’t orange juice to me. i’m glad to see you updated! ~smiles~
