Okay, there are three things that piss me off about this merging of FOD and OD+:

1. It was unexpected.
2. If I’m a paying user, there should be no ads visible on any of my diary pages whether I am logged in or not. I don’t want any of my friends who are not users to be subjected to advertising, and even though who do have accounts shouldn’t need to log in. This is probably my biggest problem. I hate advertising with a passion. That’s why I use style sheet properties to hide it as best I can. The main problem with that is it throws off the positioning of the menubar, and I haven’t figured out how to handle that yet. I haven’t had much time to work with anything here since I was in stupid-ass training most of the day at work.
3. Whether or not the new servers are a million times faster than the old ones, paying members should still have the priviledge of a dedicated server for speed. The hardware may be great now, but it’s only a matter of time before it’s inadequate again. It doesn’t matter how big and bad it is now, it won’t last. Not to mention that all the eggs are in one basket again.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Attack of the line breaks and paragraph marks!! They are being stuck where they don’t belong!

I’m not all rage, though. I do appreciate the following enhancements:

• The ability to have line breaks inserted in place of paragraph marks (even though they breed like rats every time I save.)
• The ability for non-members to leave notes again
• The ability to save a template for starting each entry. I have a block of HTML I have to copy from entry to entry every time I start a new one.

I have to finish writing my second essay for my class tomorrow. This assignment sucks more than the last one, but I’ll post the result tomorrow or later tonight anyway. It’s hard to write about something you don’t believe could ever come to be. I’d love to be an idealist, but I just can’t stomach the optimism. Whatever, it’s just an assignment.
