– Montana Re-visited – 4 –

If you haven’t read them, go back to the entries of 10/1/10, 10/2/10 and 10/3/10, Montana Re-visited.”1 – 2. & 3.

On Sunday, September 26th we went to the “Old Saloon” for breakfast. Sons 1 and 3 ordered full breakfasts but I wasn’t very hungry. I ordered just coffee and a cinnamon roll.

We all should have known better. We had been warned: “The Old Saloon serves real good, big breakfasts.”

My cinnamon roll had to be at least 8 inches in diameter and two inches thick. There was enough icing on the roll to put the Wife-Unit into a diabetic coma. I could not finish the entire roll.

From the “Old Saloon” and Emigrant we headed south for Gardiner and the Northwest Entrance of Yellowstone National Park

We only had one day to visit the park and we knew we could only see a small percentage of the sights. It was just as well as my legs weren’t up to doing a lot of walking up slopes. We stopped at Mammoth Hot Springs only to get some information. We didn’t make the trek up to the springs.

We did stop at a few of the thermal areas and they will be in the next entry. What I wanted to see the most were the falls and the “Grand Canyon of The Yellowstone”.

The Upper Falls

Portions of The Canyon

The Lower Falls

To be continued.
