nojomo#5 – snarrrrrrrl
Good thing I didn’t join the NoNoBitchMo. I would be doing even worse with that than I am with this.
So much for my lovely day off. Got woken up bright and early to a text from Miss Artsy — her daughter is sick, and she had to stay home with her. Damned kids. Okay, okay, the daughter is actually an extremely nice kid, smart and well-behaved and artsy herself. And is rarely sick. It was just bad timing. I didn’t even have anything planned, so I have been making a valiant attempt to be gallant about it all day. And I’m glad I came in, since Mr. Organized still isn’t feeling all that great and has to leave tonight for four days in a grueling workshop in Seattle, and it’s been quite busy today.
But still. STILL.
Nothing like awakening to the sounds of The Spam Song.
(As usual, refresh if it isn’t showing up. AAGGHH.)
My text alert starts at about 1:15, where she is screeching, SHUT UP!!!! SHUT UP!!!! SHUT UP!!!!! It’s really funny! When you aren’t fast asleep!
So. AAAGGHHH. On the plus side I have lots of gold stars now for coming in without a whimper after planning to be off. I can take another day of course, it just won’t be this week. So I may as well suck it up and stop whining. I’m just tiiiiiired! Since I planned to sleep in, I stayed up much too late. And didn’t pack lunch and didn’t figure out clothing options so it was kind of an annoying morning.
I just hope Miss Artsy is here tomorrow, because if I have to spend all day here with just me and AR, I may have to do murder. She kept vanishing for long stretches today — said she was going to get the mail (after forgetting to take it down to the pickup spot, as usual) and didn’t come back for like half an hour. The phone rang nonstop and students poured in.
Okay, that’s enough. Almost time to go home, yay!!! Also almost dark already, BOOOOOOOO. That is not helping my mood. I want wine and I want chocolate and I want it NOW.
That sucks! You’re a trouper.

Oulin’s idea. I like it! 🙂 I have learned to not announce my intentions. Someone will always find a way to mess it up.

You get a whole abandoned (but friendly) cabin in the woods full of gold stars for trying to be honest about being tired and not sick. I can’t imagine this day helped with the tired at all. That is a marvelous text alert choice but oh so not at 1:15 in the morning. I like the Japanese subtitles on the video.

Good thing all those lovely wee chocolate bars left over from Halloween are on sale right now 😉

Spam with Japanese subtitles – even more hilarious! Ms Artsy sounds a bit like a skiver, what with the disappearing for long stretches of time. Doubly annoying!

1:15AM????? Those are Army hours. Why the shneck couldn’t it wait till, like, 5:30??? I love the Spam song. Unilke too much of my beloved pop music, Monty Python just never gets old.

What wines do you recommend? I’m branching out since Mac Grill discontinued the particular chianti that I have such affection for. (We can buy it in the liquor store here for $6 a bottle.) Funny, because I was demanding chocolate and wine the other night, too, and I don’t even work.

Edna, we were just talking about wine, and I meant to share this video:http://movies.netflix.com/WiMovie/John_Cleese_s_Wine_for_the_Confused/70036636?trkid=2361637 That’s a Netflix link, BTW. You shared the SPAM video and it reminded me of this one. I didn’t really get much out of it, because it was during my very bad brain fog last month, but should watch it again.

RYN: I never send out cards with an expectation to get one back. I send it to you as my way of expressing friendship and a desire to connect. Enjoy without obligation to reciprocate! Cards are my thing at Christmas. Thanks for the address.

I promise to catch up. Really. I miss you more than any other OD friend.

You’re a good egg to bail them out.

It really is kind of you to come in when her child is sick. Hopefully, the child is old enough to be left alone if she is feeling a bit better.

RYN: I sometimes get annoyed, too, but I’m more concerned at this point, because people seem unable to detach themselves from their phones. It’s an addiction.

RYN: Thanks! 🙂
